Sure! I did find out that jDip's Aberration map is slightly flawed. If you look at the light-blue (Hungary) player you'll notice that their ship is not on a SC. That province is not correctly marked/configured to be a SC. Because of that, I'll be booting into windows to be able to use Realpolitik. If you have any OS older that OSX Lion (10.7) you can install Realpolitik natively: http://sourceforge.net/projects/realpolitik/?source=dlp

This will install a java file called jdip-1.7.0-preview-1-installer.jar. Open this file to start the installation. You'll want to agree with most of the defaults. I personally don't install shortcuts to desktop, but that's just me. Once it's installed, go to /Applications/jDip and click on jdip.jar. Let me know if you have any problems.

George, I'm not exactly sure about that, to be honest. I did verify that the map itself is identical (province-wise if not looks-wise). I'll have to double-check the RP version to see if it's any different than the Aberration V rule set.

Dr. Fate, did you have any luck installing jDip?

I am certain there is a corrected jDip file. The last Aberration I played, the GM used jDip and Hungary worked fine. This was admittedly like 5 years ago...

So I double-checked the RP version of Aberration and found that it is also Aberration V. The map looks a little different than the jDip version, however, the information is a copy-paste from the Variant Bank link GMTom supplied earlier.

I've looked into fixing the version on my computer, however, I'm not that familiar with svg files. I've poked around and if I get it to definitely work then I'll use jDip (just to avoid inconveniencing myself). Otherwise, RP's version should suffice.

Kal, you were correct. After banging my head on this a while and not figuring out why modifying the variant wasn't working properly, I found out that the version of jDip I installed was not the latest version. The link I supplied above is for the PR2 version, however, I had previously installed the preview-1 version. This second version has a corrected copy of Aberration V.

wow, all this talk of programs, I am so freaking old, I do this stuff by hand when I GM a game (complete with hand done errors) I tried a program one or two times and it hurt my brain. Luckily there was so little to hurt in there it was only a mild pain! This is a dumb question, but let's make certain ...I don't need to know any of this program stuff? I simply send in my orders,? (if you have a preferred format, that is no problem of course)
