Brad, do you plan to use one of the programs for adjudication and mapping?

They are not difficult programs to learn to use, by the way. Most GMs who use them still visually scan the results to check for errors, but the software provides a nice mechanism for maintaining history as well as producing serviceable maps. Season results can be exported/saved, and those files can then be opened by players who have copies of these applications.

Did I mention that the applications are free?

Since I do not see a page yet, I presume the game has not yet officially started?

Brad! I think it wound up in the wrong place. It is a folder under the Embassy Sweets game folder!

Brad.
Realpolitik can be downloaded here: http://realpolitik.sourceforge.net/. There are links to software and a manual. I use version 1.7 and I don't think it is being updated any longer.

JDip can be downloaded here: http://jdip.sourceforge.net/ I am using version 1.7 here, also. I'm not sure if it is being updated any longer, either. It has more built-in support for variants and has more options. Some people like the maps better, too.

Please don't use JDip, it's insufferably ugly. RP is much better.

Oh, and confirmed.

Ugly?! Which map, by the way? You mean the "standard" or the "Detailed" map?
Actually, I think the maps are okay enough. But I can't say that I'm crazy about the unit icons.
On the other hand, it supports more variants and has more useful features than RP.

Somebody once made a really nice looking standard map for RP and made it available as a Standard "variant", but I can no longer find it.

I don't like the garish colours, or the way that it fills in all occupied territories in solid colour so that you get bright blocks of it all over the map. I'm not keen on the way it represents movements with thik arrows all over the place either. RP is more attractive to look at, and ultimately less confusing.

I agree with Sassenach. IF there is an option to vote on this, PLEEAASSSSEEEE use RP.

Or as Dennis Miller is fond of saying, "That's just my opinion. I could be wrong"

Well, I'm not stuck on either RP or JDip as far as maps go, though I agree that the RP map is a bit easier on the eyes. Still, I wish somebody would have merged the capabilities of JDip into RP.
