Hey all,

So after thinking about stuff a bit, and mostly curious how it would go, I was thinking about trying to run an exibition race on one of the old Oval courses Robert Latorette and others had made for the old Grand Prixision Racing Program. Mostly I kinda want to see how the system would work for a Nascar Style over race and if it would be boring or good.

So ya, would anyone be interested in joining this test? And if so would you prefer Daytona, Charlotte, Darlington, Dover, Indy, Loudon, Michigan, Milwakee(RIP), Nazareth(RIP), Phoenix, Pocono, Richmond, Rockingham(RIP), or Talladega?

Interesting...

Do you have a sample track you could post? Yeah, I know what an oval looks like (and have been to the Milwaukee Mile) but are there speed limits and racing lines in the corners? Otherwise, it seems like you just get up to top speed and stay there, rolling occassional dice for position and slips.

You're welcome to run the race here. If you wish to do so, I'll set up a forum for the exhibition.

Here's Daytona. All the other tracks(Including the one Road Coarse Sears Point) are three wide all the way around, and have speed limits for the corners, thought Talledega is 180/200 and you can see the bit with Daytona, so it's preety close to nonexistent in the superspeedway cases.

Sure, I'm game. Those speeds are a bit hard to read on Daytona.

Do I get to bring my RV and keep a keg tapped for the whole race?

They seem to be fairly readable zoomed in, and I guess so XP. Also, I will probably be running it with a "Bunch two lane" start, especially if it's Daytona/Talledega as slipstreaming could be key.

So anyone else interested?

I'm in. But I'm a short track guy at heart so Dover, Nazareth or The Rock would be my choices in that order.

Kal, you really want to race on the fastest track in the bunch?

Alrighty thats...6 I think? Thats good interested to roll with this(Thought I can take more)...Now the question is what track do you guys want? I can drop a folder of the track images if you guys wish.

Also, after some digging I found the folder of stock cars for GPR. I don't know if thats the same set here at Redscape, but it'll be available

The stock cars I use were created by Charlie Heckman with paint schemes from the early 2000's. I can send you the file if you wish to use them.

I don't really care what track we use.

Huh, alot of the cars are the same ones that Robert Used in GPR. Being that I think they knew each other when the old SC yahoo group was still going, I'm guessing he probably passed them over. You can shoot me the file sure. I will let you guys know if there are any missing extras from the GPR list. Also, I may use a custom one I made a long time ago for myself back when I was toying around with the game.

As for track, well whats other peoples calls. Right now I have 1 vote for Michigan and a 1 vote for Dover/Naz/Rock. I will also abstain, though there are a couple interesting thoughts in my head.

Edit I got Tim's email, and responded well thats up to 7. I guess we need the track figured out and then go from there.
