Turn 40. I suspect Ciccio will drop his last 2 wear and sit on my bumper next turn.

T44. I'll post the rest of them for those who are interested. Yay me!

I've got a few thoughts on this one that I'll post when it's over. And if you're reading this Doug, thanks for the game - terrific job as Race Marshall.

Turn 46 followed by Doug completing the race on auto-pilot (no relevant decisions left to make). Note: Will's speed should read 80, not 140.

Here's the finish:

1) Mike
2) Ciccio
3) Russell
4) Mallard
5) Joakim
6) Will
7) Tom
8) Joe
9) Ron
10) Scott
11) Chris

End of Race Recap

First and foremost - thanks to Doug for running a great race. His dedication to the hobby is very appreciated.

This was probably the best race I've run yet. Somewhere in lap two, I figured I was good for the win. Ciccio had me worried at the end but he didn't push it and let me have it without the extra dice.

Build: It seemed like a slowish track so I gave up top speed for flexibility in acceleration & decel.

Lap one: Getting through the first corner in turn 3 allowed me to stick with the front pack. Turn 5 was critical: I was on the outside of a three-wide row so I plotted big to get the initiative followed by a late brake, grabbing the line and an inside lane. I moved into 2nd place with lots of wear to burn. At this point, I wanted to stick with Russell and use his faster engine to get some slips.

Lap two: Between laps 1 & 2, I think I ended getting three slips from Russell but not the coveted double bonus. It was about mid-way in lap 2 that I chose to pass Russell instead of waiting for more slips. I forget what drove that decision but it had something to do with hitting a corner just right. At this point, I thought the race was over.

Lap three: It was about in the middle of this lap that I realized Ciccio could've gunned for the victory. I waited for him to expend that wear and put the pressure on. I was concerned enough that I rolled the dice for an extra space in turn 38. Bastard did the same in turn 39. Incredibly, Ciccio laid off in turn 41, where he could've been on my bumper and gotten the slip next turn causing all kinds of ulcer-inducing havoc. He didn't. Ciccio, what happened?!

Great race & lots of fun. Feel free to post your thoughts as well (you need to register to do so - answer to the registration question is Diplomacy, whether you agree or not).

Onto the next race... :shift: :shift:
