Comment on Grand Prix points: I had failed to include how DNF's are treated in the rules. DNF's will not score any points and the rules have been amended to reflect that. Fortunately, we didn't have any crashes or engine / brake failures in Silverstone. We could've though - some of those spins might easily have been crashes. Keep that in mind for Catalunya as there will be a third and final race behind it in the inaugural grand prix.

Builds are in:

Starting Position Bid Deadline: Friday, August 29th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

With the 12 cars in this race, I needed to make more room for the car data (if you actually want to read it). We're going vertical this time!

Starting positions are set. See grid below.

Ties were broken with a random number 1-100. Those involved received the roll directly from the pbegames die roller. Tim will take the rear by virtue of not sending in a bid (after several reminders).

Position / Driver / Bid

Row 1, lane 1 / Mike (red) / 3w + 9sp = 7.5
Row 1, lane 3 / Kal (black) / 3w + 6sp = 6
Row 2, lane 1 / Todd (blue) / 3w + 4sp = 5
Row 2, lane 3 / Fabio (orange) / 2w + 4sp = 4
Row 3, lane 1 / Scott (dk.green) / 2w + 2sp = 3 (tiebreak = 95)
Row 3, lane 3 / Chris (neon green) / 2w + 2sp = 3 (tiebreak = 50)
Row 4, lane 1 / Rando (yellow) / 1w + 1sp = 1.5
Row 4, lane 3 / Brad (grey) / 2sp = 1
Row 5, lane 1 / John (purple) / 0 (tiebreak = 54)
Row 5, lane 3 / DC (aqua) / 0 (tiebreak = 31)
Row 6, lane 1 / Dave (pink) / 0 (tiebreak = 9)
Row 6, lane 3 / Tim (brown) / 0 (NBR)

Turn 1 Deadline: Wednesday, September 3rd @ 12 noon EDT (4 p.m. GMT)

The race will NOT begin with a 1st turn NPR. Any driver with a 1st turn NPR will be removed from the game and replaced by a driver on the wait list.

John's wear should read '18'.

It will be fixed on Turn 1 results.

Please welcome the new driver of the green car to the race! Cody is looking forward to taking some dents from you but please don't spin him unless he is winning.

Given the quick turnaround on getting Cody's plot, I'm going forward with the Friday deadline for turn 2.

Four cars pushed their start speed by 20 mph and all passed their rolls:

Dave applied 2 SP (modified 5)
Cody applied 3 SP (modified 7)
Rando applied 2 SP (modified 4)
Tim applied 3 SP (modified 0)

Nice to see a 3-wide early in the race. I'll typically add some more commentary but not much else to say yet. Please check for errors - I might be a bit rusty and have never run a dozen cars.

Turn 2 Deadline: Friday, September 5th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

Some good racing to start us off...

Summary
Mike takes his car into the ELF sponsored corner at 140, burning 2 wear in the 100 lane. Kal does the same as he heads to the 120 lane for 1 wear. Fabio also plots 140 but refuses the slip as there is not a safe place to go. He grabs the inside lane in front of the elven turn. Chris takes his car to its top speed of 160 to pull alongside Fabio.

Brad plots 140 and chooses the outside lane (more on that later). Todd takes his car to 120 but forgot to order the slipstream  . Cody also plots 120 to pull up next to Todd. Rando rolls the dice to push his acceleration (modified 8 after 1 SP applied) and is able to weave through the traffic at 160. Tim pushes his top speed (modified 4 after 2 SP applied) to hit 160 but runs into trouble. There's no room at the inn and he has to slam on the brakes for a wear.*

John uses his beefed up acceleration to plot 140. Dave plots 120 and ducks behind John for the potential slip next turn. DC also plots 120, running up next to Dave.

* A confluence of events caused this outcome, primarily Brad choosing lane 3.

Turn 3 Deadline: Tuesday, September 9th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)

The next deadline is pushed off by 24 hours to accommodate a request. Turn 4 will be due on Thursday the 11th. It works out for me anyway as I'll be unavailable from Friday through Sunday.

Randy, do you have an alternate email address? Every other message I send to you seems to get returned as undeliverable.

He sent an email asking him for help with PW on Redscape. It appears he has more than just your issue...

Thanks for your patience. Note that Randy has the inside position on his row.

Turn 3 Summary
Mike continues through ELF at 140 and takes the lead in Renault. Kal also continues his trek through ELF at 140, grabbing Mike's tail (hey... ). Fabio burns a wear in the ELF 100 lane at 120 to form the Conga line behind Kal. Chris conserves his wear through ELF at 100, giving us four in a row. Brad will have none of that and breaks the trend at 160 through the outside for 2 wear and is ready for some racing with Chris. Rando conserves his wear in ELF and takes the 120 lane for free. Tim rolls the dice again on top speed with 1 SP applied (modified 5). He races through the 120 for 2 wear and jumps to the middle lane to pass Rando and grabs the inside lane to keep the snake intact. Todd plots 140 and takes the same route as Tim for 1 wear. Cody burns a wear in the 100 ELF lane at 120, jumping to the outside of Todd. John drops 2 wear to hit the ELF 80 at 120. Dave slams the gas pedal at 160 and burns 2 wear in the ELF 120's. DC uses 1 wear and pulls up behind Dave in ELF.

Note 1: The unusual alignment of the last row in ELF is allowing for the mid-corner lane jumping. This is a rarity and caught me off guard. There is a question of other lane changes in the corners which will go under discussion in the appropriate thread.

Note 2: Both Todd & Cody are set up to slipstream Tim. The first car to take the slipstream gets it.

Turn 4 Deadline: Thursday, September 11th @ 12 noon EST (4 p.m. GMT)
