It's a summary of hundreds of games played in the 1990s and it tells us what we typically see after fall '01.

For instance, Spain is unowned--as it is in this game-- in 17% of games after 1901. Greece is unowned in 14%. Unusual, but not too unusual.

But look a little further. Turkey's got 3 centers in just 1.8% of games and Austria owns Bulgaria in just 0.7% of games. That's very uncommon. The rest of the board is pretty typical as far as center counts and ownership go, but the southeast is taking an uncommon way forward.
