Hello drivers! My name is Jack Beckman, and I will be your Steward for Season 11 of the Redscape C2 races. Most of you have raced with me before, but please read this email in its entirety anyway and ask questions about anything that’s not clear to you.
I will be running a fairly strict schedule, with plots due Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 8 AM ET (US) unless I say otherwise. Plots that are late will not be accepted unless you can show it was actually sent before the deadline. I will respond to every build/bid/plot, usually with a terse “Got it” or something similar. I know some drivers like to add commentary/thoughts to their plots, and I do enjoy reading them, but usually I don’t comment so as to make sure I don’t give something away. It’s also helpful to know your intent in case I am having trouble interpreting your plot.
If you have sent in your plot but have not received an acknowledgement from me, and the deadline is closing in, send it again. Don’t assume that I got it! Remember that Redscape House Rules require a plot every turn (or penalties will ensue). I will *try* to send out reminders, but I often don’t have the time to do so - do not rely on me reminding you! If you are having trouble with email, you can text me at 586-805-0117.
If you are worried about getting a future plot in on time - say, you will be out of town for a few days - you can always send me plots for future turns. I realize in some circumstances that can be difficult, but often it’s better than getting a No Plot Received penalty. You might have to make multiple plots for different starting positions.
If I don’t receive a plot on time, I will use the defaults to move your car. This plot is designed so to be realistic, but may not fit with your overall game plan. You may not enjoy where you end up with one of these plots.
When plotting, please take into account that you may not be able to get the line/lane/space you are shooting for and have a backup plot listed if possible. Otherwise I will use the defaults and best judgement. My judgement may not be your judgement.
If you have a question about whether or not something is allowed, please feel free to ask. I cannot offer advice, but I will help you with the rules. If you have any questions about what you can and cannot do, please ask rather than assume.
Please know now that I *will* make mistakes - moving cars to the wrong place, mis-interpreting your plot, forgetting to take wear/skill (or taking too much). Please AUDIT what I have done with your car and let me know as soon as possible about any potential issues! The sooner I know about them the easier they are to fix. If you tell me 6 turns later that you should have been one space further up, it’s probably too late to fix.
Below are the assigned and available cars. Drivers staying from last season have first choice at keeping their cars. If you would prefer a different car (one of the unassigned ones) please let me know. Those of you joining, please respond with your preferred car (and a couple of backups in case you are beaten to it). If you are keeping your car, please also let me know that.
Here is the track for race 1 - Anderstorp in Sweden. Please send your 2-point builds to me no later than 3 June @ 8 AM ET (US). The build point costs are found at http://www.lucidphoenix.com/sc/rules/core/setup.asp . Once I have the builds, I will send them out and call for pole bids. Remember when bidding for pole that skill chips are worth 0.5 and wear 1 point. A bid of zero is perfectly legal (and if I don’t receive a bid by the deadline, 5 June @ 8 AM ET (US), you will get a zero bid). Ties will be resolved using percentile dice on an internet die roller.
