So, the Supreme Court has struck down parts of Arizona's law SB1070, and left others, although there is still some legal argument to come.

As I understand it, the section (Section 2(B)) on spot checks of paperwork has not been annulled, but there could be a Constitutional issue depending on how it is implemented and on how the Arizona courts rule. So it hasn't been given a clean bill of health, either.

But what has been struck down is arrests without a warrant, making it a misdemeanor to not carry papers and bars on seeking work without paperwork.

Apparently, Scalia's dissent cited pre-Civil War state laws on restrictions on freed black slaves to move between states (particularly in the South) as precedent. Which is classy.

Anyway, enough about our charmingly 'originalist' friend Antonin, what are the impacts of this decision?

How many other States will be affected if their laws are over the line? Will Congress do anything to work together on a new solution? Will Romney get off his fence?
