His policy on tax is a great slogan but beyond that there are questions. He's moved all over the place over the harassment allegations, which remain allegations as far as I can see, but the way he's dealt with them is chaotic. The Libya thing is bizarre. Was he unable to answer because he didn't know what was happening in Libya? Because he was trying desperately to avoid giving Obama any credit? Because he didn't understand the question?

Who is really judging Cain? Republican voters are. They will decide if he gets a ticket in next year's primaries. A lot of them took a goof look at him, and he seems to be losing their support. If that really just comes down to prevalent liberal opinion, then what does that say about Republican supporters? Are they so weak that a dodgy op-ed in a metropolitan, elitist paper or on HuffPo will get them all squiffy?

I doubt it. He looked good in the shop window, but when they went in and took a closer look the flaws emerged.

I think that's right ... Republicans and independents aren't racist ... we have found him lacking based on character and experience. I think we are all still searching for Mr. or Ms. Right.

I like your mild slip: goof instead of good.

Ray, you are right that Republicans are not racist per se. Of course, there are racists out there across the political spectrum.

Are Democrats not racist per se? Why the delineation between Republicans and Democrats when it comes to racism? What was your point?

I'm not sure if that is directed to me or Danivon. My view is that there are racists in both parties (and sexists, and anti-Semites, etc.) but in general, the vast majority of people (and the vast majority of people in both parties) are more enlightened than that and have learned to not judge a book by its cover. My presumption is that Danivon would agree.

My point was that Cain is running for the Republican candidacy, and his support is falling among Republicans and other primary voters, but that doesn't appear to be about race. I meant no 'delineation' and I did not say anything about Democratsalone in that post because they are covered by the 'across the political spectrum' part, but are not the voters drifting fronm Cain to Gingrich.

But, seeing as you brought it up, I'll say that Democrats, Libertarians, Socialists, Constitutionalists, Whigs, Greens and any other political movement many other political groupings are not racist per se. Each will contain - to varying degrees, perhaps - some racist members or supporters.

Additional - seeing as I cross-poated with RJ, yes I agree with him.

Well Danivon if it had been Brad Pitt instead of Herman Cain, would any of these women be complaining?

Not knowing the details, I can't be sure. Same if it were Wesley Snipes, I guess. Not that hot guys can't be dicks or find some women don't welcome their advances.
