Looking past at these old posts the Obama Admin had a goal of 1 million EVs on the road by 2015...and it took a while longer but we're a good ways past that now.
The Future takes a while longer than you expect...but eventually it gets here.

California has the highest EV demand in the USA with 1 million plug-in electric cars sold. Between 2012 – 2021, around 17 million electric vehicles were sold worldwide (that includes all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles combined).
In 2021 electric car sales in the USA grew more than 2x from the previous year.
The US now accounts for 10% of global EV sales. China leads the way...
https://tridenstechnology.com/electric- ... rket-shareDemand is greatly outstripping current production capacity. At least here in the GTA the wait time for delivery of an electric vehicle is 6 to 9 months...
Shopping for one myself has been interesting.... But as I talk to current owners, about 90% are thrilled, no matter which vehicle they drive. The one exception the owner of a Leaf who suffered from range anxiety in the winter... (the decreased range in winter seems to be a problem that is solved by preheating the car when it is still plugged in... at least Teslas) But we're still far behind much of the world in charging stations per hundred kilometers.
