If you set up a quiz to give you the answer you want (that the perfect non-statist agrees with Austrian economic theory and that those who may agree to other economic theories are more statist), then voila! you'll get it.

I got 67%. Which I think is either very low or very high compared to what some may think I should get.

So are you trying to say that Austrian Economics is not anti-state?? I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who says that.

Moreover, I specifically aimed to be fair in the scoring. The scores make me think I was too fair, but I could be wrong. I was particularly fair with some of the socialist answers--making them more anti-state than even some Chicago school answers.

Again, I'm still teetering with the numbers. The quiz is set up such that not every question makes you more or less statist at the same rate. Some Socialist answers give you +6 (the max on that end) and some give you -3. Chicago school also ranges between -2 to +5 (or 4. I can't remember exactly). Not all Austrian answers are -4 (the max on that end).

And yes, if you answer 100% in agreement with me and the Austrian school, you get 0% statist. How is that inaccurate?

You don't know me very well if you think that.

Perhaps it is similar to this analogy. You are driving. Anyone passing you is a crazy, unsafe driver. Anyone you have to pass drives like Granny. Only you are at the perfect speed.

No, I don't believe you're a statist. Do you have more statist tendencies than I do? Certainly. But that doesn't make you a statist. I would have pegged you somewhere between 25-30%.

Weird, my message on 67% was that I was a statist but didn't think I was one. I guess we found the threshold.

I thought I would have been 20% myself.

There should be a result that says, "If I can't be king, no one can."

FYI - I didn't create the percentage breakdowns. I did provide the description, but the actual percentage breakdown is as follows:

Score 0% to 16%: You are an anti-statist, possibly an extremist. You might belong in Guantanamo Bay. Do you even vote?
Score 17% to 33%: You're a minarchist. You are mostly against the state, but you don't like extremes. One day you'll see that voting doesn't change anything and the state is a rigged game.
Score 34% to 50%: Slightly anti-state. You have some statist tendencies, but deep down inside you hate the state. You probably have some religio-patriotic tendencies that keep you with tose colored glasses about your government.
Score 51% to 67%: You are a statist. You probably don't fancy yourself as such, but this is reality. You believe that the state should be in control of a large part of society and economy.
Score 68% to 84%: You're a total statist. You probably agree with this assessment, and don't think statism is bad. I hope you die of the galloping crotch rot. Stay away from my family.
Score 85% to 100%: Totalitarian, statist, pig-faced, envybot. You're probably from Europe...or worse: California. You vote so often, you probably have no testosterone.

No, I'm suggesting that it's not the only anti-state ideology. Moreover, that economic theory is not the only arena in which the split emerges.

Apparently I'm 57% statist.

That test is far too long. I got bored of it after about 4 questions and gradually got more and more frustrated at having to read through solid walls of text only to find that I didn't really agree with any of the options. I normally make a point of never bothering with this kind of thing, the only reason I made the effort here was because I know the guy who designed the test. I won't be making that mistake again.

Shouldn't that have been enough warning?

I don't disagree with either statement. However, these are the four predominant economic theories, and as you know, the quiz was already long enough.

I don't get why anyone is annoyed with having taken the quiz. Nobody forced you to.

I have no excuse really. I was on the verge of quitting numerous times and forced myself to continue.
