Does anyone here know if such a plan exists for the US military?

I ask given the lack of recourse in light of a failed US justice system. I figure someone here might know.

Do you mean the original general plan for military governance in the event of a breakdown of society in wartime Germany?

In which case I expect there are plans for what would happen in the event of various disasters, although most would be at a more local or regional level.

Or do you mean a plan to use and expedite such matters through assassination of the head of government?

Civil disorder.

You expect there are plans? Does the UK have such a plan?

Danivon,

I no longer live in a democracy. That is a thing of the past in America as of this week. I live in an oligarchy at best.

I feel like I have right to know who will be in charge when everything goes south. I remember the scenes from Katriina in New Orleans. I remember Barbara Bush quipping, "don't they have credit cards? Can't they just use their credit cards to figure out a temporary solution?"

It's only as of this week that I now acknowledge that America has a political class and that this particular caste is above the rule of law.

I expect so. They would not make it public though.

Yeah, but don't forget that the "upgrade" of Valkyrie was a disguise of the same thing, in order to seize control of the government. The original Valkyrie was to protect the government district in the event of a guest-worker uprising in Berlin.

Don't forget that the America Constitution already enables such a thing: to protect a state or area within it (I guess the federal capital district could just as readily count as a "state" in this case) against "domestic violence". It's been done before: the Whiskey Rebellion, or Shay's Rebellion, or something like that (I'll have to look it up). Washington himself led the PA military (today would be called the "National Guard") personally to put down the disorders.

In other words, yes. And it's in the constitution, and it's been done before. But remember, habeas corpus is not allowed to be suspended by Congress unless the United States is specifically in danger of A) invasion or B) rebellion, and in whichever of the two cases "the public safety would require it".

It turns out I'm not the only one who thinks about these kinds of things...
