Fallout from the spun car...

Turn 37 Summary

Dygert pulls up to C13 on the line at 120. Harley tucks in at 100.

Harrington clears the ess-curves at 140 on the line. Costa clears at 60 but his car is presenting difficulties for the field.

At 140, Bernhardt sheds a wear in C11 on the 120 spot before skirting the #7 on the outside of C12. Smith, also at 140, takes the 140's throughout for free.

Rund, at 140, gets hung up in the corner complex.

Choi drops the hammer to 180 but the engine spits out some parts and declines the offer (natural 12). The initiative goes back to Milbourn at 160. He flies into C11 for a wear. Back to Choi, who now has no place to put his car. He late brakes to 140 (natural 9) and has the C11 line for free.

Marshall burns a wear at 100, wondering what all the commotion is about up ahead.

Either Harrington is slyer than a fox or forgot how many corners are left. Choi can't catch a break with the dice, leaving the car in tenuous shape.

Turn 38 Summary

Dygert & Harley take turns on the C13 line at 80.

Harrington pulls up on the line at 100?!. Bernhardt goes inside with his 160.

Smith stays with the #43 at 140 and the bonus, eschewing the line. Costa loses pace at 120, even with the slip.

Rund grabs the bumper on the red machine at 140.

Milbourn has the initiative at 160 and pulls alongside the black racer. Choi, at 140, can't use all his speed and attempts a late brake (natural 12). Yikes! He opts to tail the car with some rubber.

Marshall pulls up the ess-curves at 160 on the line.

The podium firms up while things get shuffled in the chase pack.

Turn 39 Results

Dygert sets up the line at 100 and is a lock for the win. Harley settles in on the line at 100. Can he hold off the hard-charging Harrington?

Harrington has the initiative at 120. He runs the line for 2 wear and should clear C15 next turn to challenge for 2nd. Bernhardt runs the outer rail at 100 for a wear. Two wear in pocket should be enough to hold off the masses.

Smith goes outer rail at 80 for free. Costa runs the C13 line at 80 for free.

Milbourn ensures the initiative at 140 but then has to late brake (1w) to safely clear C13 on the outside for 2 wear. Rund slows to 80 and sets up the C13 line.

Choi gains a position at 100 and the bonus. He burns his last wear to jump into C13 on the outside. Marshall rumbles through the ess-curves at 160 for a wear.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!

...and then all hell breaks loose.

Turn 41 Summary

Dygert takes the checkered flag at 140!

Harley pushes the powerplant (natural 6) to hang onto 2nd. Harrington leaves the dice in the cup at 160 to fill out the podium.

Bernhardt has the initiative at 100 (whew...), spews out his last two wear and is a lock for 4th next turn. Smith decides on 80 and a chance roll (natural 10). He is out of control and smashes through the barrier!

Milbourn plots 80 and would like to use his last wear to get through C15. Unfortunately, he gets caught up in some debris from the crash and spins (crash avoidance w/ 1s, -2 total mod; 8 = spin). Costa, over-brakes to 60 (natural 7) and is able to avoid the same fate to clear the final corner (crash avoidance, -2 total mod; 6 = pass).

Choi pulls up to C15 on the line at 80. Rund runs to the inside at 100. Marshall brings up the rear at 140, on the line.

Two more cross the finish line...

Turn 42 Summary

Bernhardt brings home 4th place at 140. Costa is 5th with the nose across the line at 120.

Milbourn nudges out onto the straight at 20 and is sitting on the racing line.

Rund has the initiative at 60. He rounds the outside for free. Choi wisely drops his speed to 40, goes inside, and finds a hole. That big engine will serve him well now.

Marshall plots 80 but has no place to put the car. He late brakes to 60 w/ 2s (modified 6) and clears the corner on the outer rail.

Turn 43 Deadline: Monday, January 24th @ 7 a.m. EST (12 noon UTC)
Trigger option in effect: Early adjudication possible if all plots are in.

... and that's a wrap!

Turn 43 Summary

Choi gets the initiative with the push to 140 using 2s (modified 8). 6th place for the #2.

Rund pushes the nose across at 100 for 7th (for the moment).

Milbourn pushes his engine to 100 (natural 9). The engine barely complies but he does get the nose to the line for 8th (or does he?).

Marshall uses his big chip to hit 140. He skirts the the two cars at the line and powers past for 7th! That leaves Rund in 8th & Milbourn 9th.

Pack your cars up... we're going to Malaysia for the final race of Season 8!
