It's early, but I thought I'd get the ball rolling (so to speak). In 2010 I had great fun participating in the Redscape-organized World Cup Fantasy league. Are there any plans to form such a league again this year? It's beyond my capacity to organize or run such a project, but if anyone out there is willing, I'm ready to sign up to participate!

I'd be happy to set it up. You'll probably be looking at April, at least, before the services are ready to go.

I daresay I'll get involved once it's up. No point looking at it now though, it'll have to wait till about 2 weeks ahead of the tournament when the squads are announced.

The fantasy World Cup site is open but leagues are not forming yet. It appears that you can't do anything until June 8 but I'll check regularly to see if I can get an earlier jump on it.

I don't know a damned thing about soccer but that never stopped me from doing something.

Make that eight now. Don't delay!

Why do many of the Brazilian players go by one name? Ego? Gimmick?

Hi Guys,

I just sat down to register a team for this but it looks like needing more than the 15 mins or so I have time for right now. I'll try to do it tomorrow though.

No surprise as Brazil wins 3-1. I suppose many of us will glean points off that win.

No surprise I guess, but it was a travesty. Incredibly soft penalty decision and then what seemed to be a perfectly legitimate Croatian goal ruled out. Brazil were lucky, and they'll have to seriously improve their defending if they want to win the tournament. I lost count of how many times Olic got free in the space where Dani Alves was supposed to be.

The hosts benefiting from a generous refereeing decision or two? Never seen that happen before!

That header off a long pass that arced over the goalie in the Spain-Holland game was amazing...that corner kick by Italy turned into their first goal was very well-planned and executed I thought (Sorry Sass and Dan!)
