Builds are in. Not too much variety going on here and with all the big start speeds, I expect a bidding war to break out for the pole.

Start bid deadline: Wednesday, December 23rd @ 7 a.m. EST (12 noon UTC)

The bids are high for the first six spots then fall off precipitously as the remaining drivers resign themselves to running a back strategy.

Turn 1 Deadline: Monday, December 28th @ 7 a.m. EST (12 noon UTC)
If all plots are in, I will adjudicate early.

RM Notes:
If plots are not submitted by the hard deadline (to the minute), the result is an NPR.
I will try to send reminders about 12 hours out from the deadline to those that have yet to submit a plot. This is a courtesy only. Failure to receive a reminder does not excuse an NPR penalty.
You are welcome to fill out a personal defaults form. These defaults take precedence over Redscape defaults but not over your submitted plots. They are not used in the event of an NPR.

Half the field pushes with one mis-shift.

Turn 1 Summary

Row 1: Tatum pushes to 120 w/ 3s (modified 2). He runs into the chicane for 2 wear. Long pushes to 120 w/ 1s (modified 3) before late braking to 100 w/ 1s (modified 5).

Row 2: Fritz, with the aggressive 120 start speed, pulls inside of the #19. Benham eases in behind his row-mate at 100.

Row 3: Swaine successfully pushes to 120 w/ 2s (modified 5). Kay is the first 60 to head out.

Row 4: Rund moves past Kay at 100.* At 80, Baker puts 2s on his start but alas, the transmission hiccups and he dials it back to 40.

Row 5: Beckman brings 3s to his 80 start (modified 2). Harley moves out at 60.

Row 6: Peeples pushes to 120 w/ 2s (modified 4). Brandt rolls out at 60.

Turn 2 Deadline: Thursday, December 31st @ 7 a.m. EST (12 noon UTC)

*Rund moved into the middle lane to avoid giving a potential slip. This is the experimental rule we'll be working with for this race: You may not present yourself for a slip to another car unless the position is relevant for another purpose (inside lane / racing line / a potential slip for yourself). This is a standard rule in Doug's PBEM series.

The dice gods throw one last wrench into the plans of a driver because 2020.

Turn 2 Summary

Swaine gets the initiative at 140 then grabs the dice cup to late brake (naked 10). The brakes go 'klunk' and cost a wear of damage. Three more wear come off in the chicane and the Westfield turn. Benham toodles through the chicane line and the Westfield turn for a total of two wear.

Rund clears the Senna chicane on the line at 100 for a wear.

Peeples has the initiative at 120, late brakes to 100 w/ one skill (modified 6) and drops a wear on the Senna line. Kay, at 100, scrapes off two wear in the chicane.

Brandt, at 120, flies on past the #11.

Turn 3 hard deadline: Monday, January 4th @ 7 a.m. EST (11 a.m. UTC)
I will adjudicate early if all plots are in. Happy New Year!

*Note: I did not reduce Stephen's wear total - it will be updated next turn.

Several cars are through Melthouse Corner. I'm unsure why the developer chose this name. The only reference I can find is Brewery Corner. The Kent Town Brewery was located here, founded as Logue's Brewery in 1856. The brewery has since been turned into apartments.

Turn 7 Summary

Tatum is down the Brabham Straight at 140.

Fritz knocks down 2 wear in Brewery Corner at 140. Long runs the corner for free at 100 and the bonus but loses pace.

Benham burns a wear on the Brewery Corner line at 120 to clear. Swaine clips a tire at 120 and the bonus, getting hung up in the corner.

Rund finishes out the corner onto Rundle and grabs the next line. Peeples, at 100, lines up behind the black machine.

Kay runs the line onto Rundle at 100 for free.

Harley clears the corner at 120 on the outer rail for a wear. Brandt gets the line at 100 for free.

At 100, Beckman pulls up at the end of Hutt Street on the line. Baker catches the 'Jack' car at 120 with inside position.

Turn 8 Hard Deadline: Wednesday, January 13th @ 7 a.m. EST (12 noon UTC)

Note: I am putting this race into permanent 'Trigger' mode. That means if all plots are in, there is a possibility of early adjudications. I'm running into some time pressures and need the flexibility. You all have been great at getting order in early so this will probably quicken our pace. If for any turn you don't want an early adjudication, just ask or put 'preliminary' in your plot.

Most of the field is now stretched out on Brabham Straight.

Turn 8 Summary

With the tight hairpin coming up, Tatum eases up on the gas pedal to 120. Fritz does the same, tending to his minuscule breaks, and also plots 120. Long tucks in behind the blue machine at 140.

Benham accelerates onto the long Straight at 160. Swaine finishes out the Brewery Corner at 120.

Rund drops 2 wear, rounding Brewery Corner and catching the Dr. Pepper car. Peeples takes a free ride on the line at 100 and gets the bonus.

Fritz grabs the line at 100. Long addresses the hairpin on the inside at 120.

Benham pulls onto the line at 140.

Rund guns it to 160 for outright position on Swaine who, at 140, pulls in behind the black machine.

How I Learned to Love the Hairpin...

Turn 10 Summary

Don eases his way through the round-a-bout at 100 for a break away next turn.

Long goes to the dice cup early with his big chip. He careens around Duquetteville on the inside for 2 wear and a chance (modified 1). He spits on the corner and rolls in behind the #1 car. With few options at 100, Fritz rolls to the outer rail for 2 wear and settles in behind the green machine.

Benham plots 100 but re-thinks that decision prior to the hairpin. He late brakes with his 1 skill to 80 (modified 7) and runs the line a wear.

Rund grabs the dice cup and over brakes to 80 (naked 3). He rounds the hairpin and drops a wear on the line. Swaine, at 100, sees the black car in his spot, late brakes with a wear, and squats on the line.

Peeples, at 120, addresses the hairpin on the inside and moves up one position. Will he hold it?

Kay rolls down the Brabham Straight at 140 and, with no lane specified, defaults to the inside.. Harley pulls even with the blue machine at 140 and the bonus and lucks into the racing line position. Brandt, at 160, cruises along the Brabham wondering what mayhem lay ahead.

Beckman and Baker roll down the Brabham Straight at 140 apiece.

Several of you have picked up on the shadow that's been tailing you. Do not worry, that is a ghost car (appropriately, the #3 of Dale Earnhardt) and will have no impact on you.

Turn 11 Summary

Tatum heads towards the 2nd hairpin at 140.

Long finishes the round-a-bout at 100, as does Fritz.

Benham pushes his engine to 140 (naked 2) and drops 2 wear in the corner.* I'm sure Mr. Long is none too happy about the company.

Rund clears the round-a-bout at 100.

Peeples burns 2 wear in Dequetteville at 80. Swaine drops to 60 and takes the Dequetteville line for free.

Harley gets the initiative at 120. He late brakes for a wear then dumps 2 more on the outer rail of the hairpin. Kay, at 100, also goes outer rail for 2 wear.

Brandt, with no room on the line at 100, late brakes to 80 for a wear and now runs the line for another.**

Beckman pulls up to Dequetteville on the line at 140. Baker, at 120 and the bonus, also sets up on the line.

The ghost car plotted 160. You do NOT have to account for the ghost car in your plots!

* I forgot to put James' dice roll in the chart.
** The late brake was per instruction. The default would have been outside for the same wear.

Appropriate that the Florida Lottery car gambled with his race...

Turn 12 Summary

Tatum knocks down 2 wear on the Mistral line.

Long plots 120 before late braking to 100 (1 wear). He clears Mistral on the line for 2 more wear. Benham loads the dice cup at 120. He puts 2 wear into the Mistral 60's and a chance roll (naked 7). So close yet round he goes (40 next turn).

Fritz pulls up to the hairpin on the line at 100. Rund, at 140, grabs the line as well.

Peeples picks up the speed to 100 in the round-a-bout. Swaine, also at 100, stays on him bumper.

Harley & Kay both hit the inner rail of the round-a-bout at 100 and end side-by-side yet again.

Brandt clears the round-a-bout at 100.

Beckman drops 2 wear on the Dequetteville line and is into the next corner. Baker slows to 80, burning a wear in Dequetteville.

The ghost car spent 2 in the 40 at 80.

We're into lap 2! Another chance roll in the Mistral. I had the tornado ready but didn't need it.

Turn 13 Summary

Tatum pulls up to the chicane on the line at 140.

Long runs across the line into lap 2 at 140. Benham recovers from his spin at 40 and graciously avoids the line.

Fritz and Rund both clear the Mistral Hairpin at 100 for 2 wear each.

Peeples dives into Mistral on the line at 120. That's 2 wear and his big chip on the chance table (modified -1). Stephen spits on the corner as he easily clears. Swaine pulls up on the line at 120.

Harley, at 140, is off-line in front of the hairpin. Kay plays it safe at 100.

At 120, Brandt pulls even with the Air Force #43.

Beckman finishes out the round-a-bout at 100. Baker runs the corner at 100 for free.

The ghost car went 100.
