Turn 13 Summary

Kubala drops a wear in Variante Bassa. Dygert keeps the pressure on, burning 2 wear to clear.

Harley and Harrington trade paint down the short straight at 120 each.

Schippers finishes out Rivazza at 80 on the 2nd line. Kay follows, also at 80.

Hoyt has the initiative at 100. He clips 2 tires in the 60's then takes the line in the 2nd corner, knocking another wear. Bernhardt slows to 60 and runs the same corners for free.

Puddifoot scrapes off 2 tires in the Rivazza 40 then hits the outer rail in the 2nd corner for free. Ricaud has to burn off some of his speed at 80. He goes outside in the 1st corner for a wear.

Walling pulls up to Rivazza on the line at 120.

The leaders are into lap 2!

Turn 14 Summary

Kubala and Dygert max their engines to 140 as they enter the 2nd lap.

Harley and Harrington take turns through the 60's for a wear and continue side-by-side.

Schipper rolls into the chicane at 80, scrubbing off one wear. Kay goes to the outside at 100, also burning a wear.

Hoyt finds a traffic jam at 120. He lays on the brakes with 1s (modified 7). Bernhardt pulls alongside the blue machine at 120.

Puddififoot, at 120, tucks in behind the traffic. Ricaud knocks down 2 wear on the 2nd Rivazza line at 120. He finds a hole as the cars stack up in the chicane.

Walling over brakes to 60 w/ 2s (modified 4) so that he can save wear in Rivazza.

Two bold moves in the back. One pays off, one doesn't...

Turn 15 Summary

Kubala slams on the brakes w/ 2s (modified 4) and at 80 drops a wear in Tranquardo. Dygert races into the Tranquardo corner at 100 and clips 2 tires in the 60's.

Harley & Harrington continue their side-by-side racing at 140 each.

Schippers finishes out the chicane at 80. Kay continues at 100 and burns another wear by going through the 60's.

Hoyt rockets through the chicane at 120, using 2 wear and his big chip on the chance table (modified 6). He moves up 2 positions on the leader board. Bernhardt drops to 60 and safely navigates the chicane for free.

Ricaud gets the initiative at 140. The spectators have a mixed response of excitement and horror as he tosses his car into the chicane with 2 wear and a big chip on the chance table (modified 7). He spins out!

Puddifoot scrapes off a wear at 80 in Variante Bassa. The bonus has him tucking in behind the red machine.

Walling pulls up to the chicane at 120.

Turn 16 Summary

Kubala extends his lead at 140. Dygert finishes out Tarquardo at 100.

Harley runs the 80's in Tarquardo at 100 for a wear. Harrington wanted the same route and with no alternative provided, goes outside for free.

Hoyt pulls up to the corner at 140. Kay has initiative at 140 and tucks in behind the blue machine. Schipper, at 120, gets in line.

Puddifoot pulls even with the #1 car at 140. Bernhardt keeps up at 120 and the bonus.

Ricaud recovers from his spin at 60. Walling burns a wear at 80 and moves up a spot.

Tarquardo takes its toll on the tires...

Turn 17 Summary

Kubala, at 100, grabs the Tosa line. Dygert burns a wear in Villanueve at 120 to close the gap.

Harley grabs the dice cup w/ 1s at 160 (modified 11). With a cough and a sputter, his engine says 'no'. Harrington gets distracted and takes an RM plot of 60, finishing Tarquardo for free (NMR #1: Warning).

Hoyt clips a tire in Tarquardo at 100 to pull even with the purple machine. Kay sheds 2 wear in Tarquardo, starting in the 80's to burn off some speed.

Schipper runs the Tarquardo 60's for a wear. Puddifoot also burns a wear in the corner but has to take the less efficient outside lane.

Bernhardt drops a tire at 80 as he enters the Tarquardo 60's.

Walling finally gets to use his top speed at 140. Ricaud pushes his engine w/ 1s (modified 9) to hit 140. The power plant squeals a bit but complies.

Turn 18 Summary

Kubala eschews the line as he cuts into the 40 at 60 mph for a wear. Dygert careens around the corner at 80, following the same path for 2 wear. He has made contact with the leader.

Harley rolls through Villeneuve at 120 for free.

Hoyt gets the initiative at 140 before late braking with 1s (modified 5). He tosses a wear in the 100. Harrington, at 120, runs the outer rail for free.

Kay, at 120 and the bonus, stays with the group. Schippers pushes his engine with 1s (modified 4) to pull even with the black machine. Puddifoot pulls in on a bumper at 140.

Bernhardt picks up speed to 100, leaving the 80 spot as his only exit.

Walling clips 2 tires in the 60's. Ricaud presses on at 140 and burns 2 wear and his big chip on the chance table (modified 4) through the 80's. He keeps the tires on the tarmac this time!

Turn 19 Summary

Kubala leads the way with Dygert shadowing at 120 towards Piratella.

Harley clears Tosa at 80 for a wear on the line.

Hoyt rolls into Tosa on the line at 100, burning 2 wear. Harrington hits the gas and at 140 tosses off 2 tires in the Tosa run-off lane. He gains position on the blue machine.

Schippers has initiative at 120. He rounds Villeneuve on the outside and grabs the Tosa line. Kay, at 100, tucks in on the inner rail to maintain position.

Puddifoot keeps up at 120, taking Villeneuve to the outside then opting to run Tosa off-line. Bernhardt takes Villeneuve for free at 100.

Walling drops a wear in Villeneuve at 140. Ricaud stays with the #46, also at 140.

p.s. During the last pit stop, Hoyt's crew has torn off all the Colorado decals and replaced them with Montana flags. Oro y plata.

Not much change this turn: Positions are stable and Bruno picks up the dice cup :uhoh:.

Turn 20 Summary

Kubala and Dygert stay in formation through Piratella at 100.

Harley approaches Piratella at 120.

Harrington and Hoyt finish out Tosa at 100 each with wear already paid.

Schipper has the initiative at 100. He wanted inner rail but with a blocked track, the RM defaults him to the line and 2 wear. Kay, at 80, burns 2 wear on the inside.

Puddifoot drops a wear at 60 in Tosa.

Bernhardt rolls to the outside of Tosa at 120 and tosses a tire. Walling, at 100, addresses Tosa on the inside.

Ricaud plots 140 via the 100's, using a wear and 1s on the chance table (modified 7). He gets too much of the curb and throws his machine into a spin.

Turn 21 Summary

Kubala and Dygert stay in formation at 80 on the Acque Minerali line. The yellow machine should be able to break away here.

Harley conserves wear at 100 on Piratella.

Harrington clips 2 tires at 140 on the Piratella line and finds a bumper. Hoyt drops 1 wear on the line at 120.

Kay clears the Piratella line at 100 and the bonus. Schipper also gets the slip at 100 to start Piratella on the outside.

Puddifoot grabs the Piratella line at 120.

Bernhardt taps the brakes to finish out Tosa for no additional wear. Walling sloughs off 2 tires at 80 and pulls even with the BLM car.

Ricaud recovers from his spin at 60.

Turn 22 Summary

Kubala pulls up to Variante Alta at 140. Dygert completes his line at 100 and loses a few car lengths to the leader.

Harley clips a tire on the Acque Minerali line at 100. Harrington follows him in, also for a wear.

Hoyt also plots 100 and sets up Minerali on the line. Kay, at 120, dives to the inside for position.

Schipper finishes out Piratella at 100. Puddifoot grabs the bumper on the red machine at 100.

Walling gets initiative at 140. He late brakes with 2s (modified 8) and takes the Piratella line for a wear. Bernhardt, at 120, scrapes off a tire as he gets pushed to the outer rail.

Ricaud takes the Tosa line at 60 for free but comes up one space short to clear.

Turn 23 Summary

Kubala scrapes off a tire at 100 in Variante Alta. Dygert does the same, keeping the race leader in check.

Harley uses his last skill chip to test his engine at 140 (modified 6). It's holding together so far. Harrington finishes his line at 120.

Kay rounds the outer rail at 80 for free & blocks the line. Hoyt, at 80 and with no line, follows the black car before ducking inside for position.

Schipper takes the Acque Minerali line for free at 80. Puddifoot burns 2 wear in the 60 spot and grabs inside position on the #1.

Walling sets up Acque Minerali on the line at 120. Bernhardt tucks in behind at 120.

Ricaud finishes out the Tosa line at 60.

Both Kubala and Dygert leave some horses in the barn at 120 each.

Harley dumps 2 wear in Variante Alta at 120. Harrington eases his way through the chicane at 80.

Hoyt careens into the chicane at 140 on the outside. He tosses in a wear and a skill and grabs the dice cup (modified 4). Kay pulls up at 120.

Puddifoot gets the bonus at 120. Schipper has no place to use the slip and pulls in behind the black machine.

Walling burns a wear on the Acque Minerali line at 100. Bernhardt also clips a tire at 100.

Ricaud grabs the Piratella line at 100.
