7 pushes and 7 passes. Interesting note, of the 7 only Pellegrino actually needed skill to pass.

Turn 1 summary:
Pellegrino gets the jump off the line at 80 to grab the early lead.
Rae lets his engine carry him comfortably into P2 at 60.
Swaine pushes to 80 pulling even with Rae.
Schulz drops to the inside at 60 with no dice.

Brown gets 80 from his engine and jumps outside of Schulz.
Kennington, happy to not stress his engine, joins the inside group.
Brandt is the first of the 20mph starters to push to 40 staying inside.
Kellison keeps up with the lead pack at 80 in the middle.

Rando and Haskell match 40mph pushes, keeping up with Brandt.
Polcen keeps his engine happy at 20.

The leaders begin to pick their way through corner 2.

Turn 2 summary:
Pellegrino drops two wear into the middle lane at 120.
Rae also sheds two wear on the outside at 140.
Swaine's maximum acceleration gets him to 120. He hugs the inside.
Brown is able to pull almost even with Swaine at 140.
(Note: both Swaine and Brown are committed to their corner lanes)

Schulz opts to not press his engine, instead using a slip to fall in behind the red car at 100.
Kennington, on the other hand, shoves the accelerator to get to 140 and pulls up next to Schulz.
Kellison also has the draft in his favor as his 140 move matches Kennington's 160 making it three wide.
Brandt is able to get to 120 and leads a small chase pack.

Rando's inside position gives him the slip allowing him to stay with Brandt at 100.
Haskell also is at 100 but with no dancing partner for this turn he drops in behind the light green machine.
Polcen is happy to take what his car was designed for as he reaches 80 this turn.

Next deadline: turn 3 due Wednesday, February 5 at 4pm EST/9pm UTC

The turn 2-4 complex causes a couple of late reactions.

Turn 3 summary:
Pellegrino taps the brakes to 100 and continues his wear through the 60s
Swaine runs the 60s at 80 for one wear.
Rae also does 80 and uses his already paid wear to take the 40 space.
Brown continues the 80 parade clearing the corner through the 80s and 60s for one wear.

Kennington gets the jump out of the three way, plotting 120. He then knocks down one wear and a modified 6 to get to 80, scrubbing off two more wear in the 40.
Schulz's 80 move trades one wear for the 60s all the way.
Kellison has the final 80 move and has nowhere to go but the 100s.
Brandt runs into the 80s at 100 shedding one wear.

Rando hits the approach to corner 2 at 100 on the inside.
Haskell pulls even with Rando at 120, taking the middle lane.
Polcen makes up ground at 140 on the inside.

Next deadline: turn 4 is due Friday, February 7 at 4pm EST/9pm UTC

The front 5 break away and jostle for position as the rest of the field snakes through the first few corners.

Turn 4 summary:
Pellegrino grabs the line into corner 6 at 140.
Rae uses his full acceleration to pull even with the purple car.
Swaine gets to 120 and hugs the inside.
Brown comes out of corner 4 at 140 ending wheel-to-wheel with Swaine.

Kennington matches Brown's acceleration and gets a slip from Rae to pick up two positions.
Schulz maintains 80 through the final 60 space and keeps it close to the curb.
Kellison taps the brakes to 60 and sheds a wear in the 40 space.
Brandt also drops to 60 and follows the silver machine through the 40 dropping one wear.

Rando negotiates the 60s all the way at 60 for free.
Haskell wanted 80 but both lanes were blocked. A tap of the brakes for a wear and he follows Brandt through the 40 for one more wear.
Polcen conserves wear through the 80s at speed.

turn 5
No write up, just had a tooth pulled.

(Note: I lied last turn. Haskell passed Rando for position. Blame it on the drugs.)

A change of leader is (really) the only position change this turn.

Turn 6 summary:
Pellegrino runs the corner 8 line at 120 and sets up on the line for corner 9.
Rae follows through corner 8 and gets a slip, moving to the inside for the lead.
Kennington also gets a slip from Rae allowing him to follow through the line and keep on Rae's tailpipe.
Swaine does 120, hitting the corner 8 line

Brown also comes off corner 6 at 120, the bonus sending him into the corner 8 120s.
Schulz, Kellison, Brandt, Haskell and Rando all run the corner 6 racing line at 80, each dropping one wear. Those with a choice move to the inside.

Polcen pushes his power plant to 140 and it responds, allowing him to cover most of the medium length straight.

It's still early, but the points look interesting with only 5 points separating promotion from relegation.

Turn 7 summary:
Pellegrino squeals off two wear on the line at 120 to reassume command of the race.
Rae slows to 80 and runs the 80s for free, blocking the exit lane of the racing line.
Kennington was looking for that line at 80 but is willing to spend the wear to drop inside and take P2.
Swaine is able to clear the corner on the racing line at 100 shedding one wear.

Brown holds 120 but with Swaine on the line he's forced to the outside scrubbing off two wear.
Schulz runs the corner 8 line at 120 for free.
Brandt gets the jump on Kellison at 140 and has just enough room to clear the racing line for one wear.
Kellison follows the light blue race car through the line at 120.

Haskell was looking to make up some ground at 140 but with the line occupied he hits the 120s for one wear.
Rando gets the bonus from Haskell and is able to grab the line at 120, moving up one position.
Polcen knocks off one wear around the corner 6 racing line at 80.

Some late braking into corner 10 as the trailing pack bunches up.

Turn 8 summary:
Pellegrino drives hard into corner 11 on the inside at 80 scrubbing off two wear.
Kennington uses his inside advantage to reach the corner in the middle lane, keeping his options open for next turn.
Rae matches the dark blue car's 120 move and shifts to the outside lane.
Swaine exits corner 10 at 140 and has no choice, he has to go inside, picking up P2 for now.

Brown finishes the 80s for already paid wear, taking the middle with a view of the three-wide ahead of him.
Schulz slows to 80, taking the racing line for free.
Brandt slows even more, running the 60s at speed.
Kellison enters the corner at 80 on the outside, the only lane available to him.

Haskell was sure someone in front of him would clear the corner so he plans a 120 move. He was mistaken. Two wear later he's down to 80 and on the racing line.
Rando also thought there would be room at the inn, but he's forced down from 100 to 80 with a wear and starts the 80s.
Polcen covers the corner 8 line at 120 for free.

As fast as the trailing pack formed it dissolves. A couple of side-by-sides and one 3-some.

Turn 9 summary:
Pellegrino continues his wear from last turn but running the 80 at 120.
Kennington is next through corners 11/12 at 100 dropping two wear in the 60s.
Swaine keeps pace with the dark blue machine at 80 leaving two wear in the 40 space.
Rae backs off to 60 covering the 60s and 80 for free, relying on that big acceleration next turn.

Brown had plans to run the 40/80 but Rae foiled those. Instead he takes the 60s for one wear.
Schulz covers the short chute at 120, finishing in the desired middle lane.
Brandt shoots out of corner 10 at 140 to pull even with Schulz on the outside.
Kellison finishes the 80s and drops to the inside.

Haskell comes around the racing line at speed keeping even with the silver machine.
Rando is locked at 80 on the outside, tucking in behind Haskell.
Polcen takes the racing line for free and can catch the group in front of him next turn.

The field strings out even more. Only one position change. Unfortunately, it was sideways.

Turn 10 summary:
Pellegrino maintains his three car-length lead at 160.
Kennington maxes at 160 to keep the gap steady.
Swaine can only reach 120. He loses touch with Kennington.
Rae uses his big acceleration to reach 140 and tuck in behind Swaine.

Brown finishes the 100s at 120 for already paid wear, losing two lengths to Rae.
Schulz drops two wear around the 60s and 80 at 100.
Brandt is slightly more conservative, slowing to 80 and following the light blue machine, shedding one wear.
Kellison uses the inside advantage to run into the corner 11 60s at 100 dropping two wear.

Haskell wanted that move but decides on the inside without braking. His tires fail to hold and around he goes.
Rando approaches the corner at 100 in the middle.
Polcen at 120 pulls in behind the light green race car.

Haskell recovers at a cost of two positions, moving out of a promotion spot and moving Polcen in.

Turn 11 summary:
Pellegrino taps the brakes to 140 as he approaches corner 14.
Kennington gains a length at 160.
Swaine also maxes at 160.
Rae at 160 is able to pull even with the red race car with the slip.

Brown also taps his power plant for a full 160.
Schulz's acceleration gets him to 140.
Brandt does 160 to catch Schulz on speed.
Haskell recovers at 20 into the 80 space.

Kellison continues at 100 through the second 60, wear already paid, and is forced out to the 100s to finish the move.
Rando plots 100 and is forced to follow the silver car to avoid Haskell. He drops two wear in the 60s.
Polcen, at 80, sheds two wear in the 40 space and emerges from the corner through the 100s.

Pellegrino carries his lead through corner 14 and should stretch it next turn.

Turn 12 summary:
Pellegrino leaves two wear on the corner 14 racing line at 100.
Kennington reaches the corner approach at 100, starting the line.
Swaine also reaches the corner and opts for the inside and P2.
Rae is left with the outside lane, which was his choice anyway.

Brown maintains 160 down the straight.
Brandt is able to let his big engine loose and roars into P6 at 180.
Schulz maxes at 160 and tucks in behind Brandt.
Kellison grabs high gear at 160, moving to the inside.

Rando is also able to reach 160 and a slip puts him even with Kellison.
Polcen can only get to 140 but he gets a bonus from Rando and only loses one car length.
Haskell continues his recovery at 80 and gets pointed down the long back stretch.
