There is a lot of variety in the builds with only two sets of duplicates (Fritz/Snouffer & Bauska/Hudson).

Two mis-builds also occurred:
Hoyt overbuilt by one point. Per Redscape House Rules, the additional point comes out of wear.
Bertaiola underbuilt by two points. Per the Rules, the build stands.

Some stats:

1 car with 180 top speed.
3 cars with 140 top speed.
1 car has 80 Acc with the rest split between 60 & 40.
8 of 13 cars have 40 brakes.
7 cars with 100 start speed.
2 cars with 20 start speed.

Start Bid Deadline: Wednesday, September 11th @ 7 a.m. EST (11 a.m. GMT).

Bids may consist of wear (1) and/or skill (1/2). Tie-break is high roll on d100.

The grid is set! The bids were spread out with several tie breaks required. Only a single 100 car in the front two rows - I guess we know who's going to take the lead out of the gate. The other 100's are in the middle or way in the back. Sean missed the bid deadline so that may not have been intentional.

T1 Deadline: Friday, September 13th @ 7 a.m. EST (11 a.m. GMT)

I will get a personal default form up and running shortly.

The green flag drops!

A traffic jam from the outset is the unsurprising result of having 100 SS cars come out of the middle and back. The dice gods were looking favorably on the field today, including a dangerous forced pass.

Turn 1 Summary

Row 1: Fritz jumps out to the lead at 100. Kubala keeps his engine in check at 60.

Row 2: Harrington pushes the start to 80 w/ 2s (modified 7). Bertaiola also pushes to set up a three-wide out of Turn 1 (naked 7).

Row 3: Weisen pushes to 120 with 2s (modified 6). He opts to force his way through the rolling roadblock with 1s on the #22. Kubala attempts to cut him off (block +2) but the Toyota wins this battle (2+2 modified to 5). Harley rolls out at 60 while enjoying the show in front.

Row 4: Both Snouffer & Bauska wisely avoid the dice at 100 apiece. They skirt the #27 and settle in behind the traffic.

Row 5: Benham pushes to 80 w/ 1s (modified 5) before grabbing Harley's bumper. Bernhardt is happy to play back marker for a while at 20.

Row 6: Hudson gets initiative by pushing to 120 with his big chip (modified 5). He joins the over-sized chase pack. Scarpino, at 100, slides in on Hudson's tailpipe.

Row 7: Hoyt brings his car out at 20 and, like Bernhardt, is probably pleased to let the field fight it out in front of him.

No brake lights yet but with 11 cars poised to go through Turn 2, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Turn 2 Summary

Fritz maintains position by taking the inner rail at 120. Weisen grabs the line at 140.

Harrington has initiative at 140 and grabs the line. Bertaiola moves next at 140 but has to roll to get there (naked 5). He takes the rail. Kubala stays even at 120 and the slip. He slots into the middle lane.

Snouffer and Bauska both plot 140. Snouffer chooses the line while Bauska goes inside.

Hudson has the initiative at 160. He is fortunate to find a hole for his car. Harley, at 140, keeps the inside position.

Scarpino has initiative at 160. He pulls in next to the #27. Benham, at 140 and the bonus, fills in the last hole for this massive block of cars.

Bernhardt and Hoyt both ramp up to 80. I can't help but thinking they are immensely amused.

Plenty of room for everyone!

Turn 3 Summary

Fritz drops 2 tires in the 60 spot of Turn 2 to maintain the lead. Weisen, at 120, burns 2 on the Turn 2 line to stay with the race leader.

Harrington has the initiative at 120. He runs the line for 2 wear and sits on the bumper of the #23. Bertaiola goes next at 80 but must expend a wear to get there. He knocks off another tire in the 60's. Kubala goes last out of his row. He scrapes off a wear on the inner rail at 80 and, with the bonus, slots in behind the M&M's Toyota.

Bauska, at 100, rolls around the outer rail in Turn 2 for a wear and will lose 5 positions to the field as they pass to the inside. Hudson rolls the dice to brake down to 100 w/ 2s (modified 7). He clips 2 tires on the inner rail. Snouffer runs the Turn 2 line at 100 for a wear and, with the bonus, stays on the tailpipe of the #32.

Scarpino has the initiative at 100. He grabs the racing line for a wear. Also at 100, Benham moves next and drops into the 60 for a wear. Harley moves last at 80 and is just able to clear the corner behind the orange machine for a wear.

Both Bernhardt & Hoyt roll down the straight at 140 as they approach Turn 2.

A lot of different strategies were used in the 3/4 complex, including not turning in a plot at all!

Turn 4 Summary

Weisen gets the initiative out of the front row at 160. He shreds 2 tires in the 120's and gets hung up in the corner (ok, so who cares since he's already at his top speed). Fritz rolls through the 100's at 140 for 2 wear and finds the exit row.

Harrington drops a wear at 160 on the outer rail. Kubala makes the move of the race so far at 140. He runs the 120's for a wear then takes a slip into the vacant 80 spot. That costs another wear and after applying 2s on a chance roll (modified 5), he has the race lead!

Hudson takes an RM plot (1w penalty) of 140, running on the outside for free. NPR's are not eligible for the slipstream. Snouffer clips a tire at 140 in the 120's and pulls up to the transition point with the bonus.

Bertaiola moves last out of his row at 120, taking the middle lane for free. Benham runs the inner rail for free at 100 and gains a bonus space.

With the initiative, Scarpino takes his machine into the 120's for a wear at 140. Bauska, at 140, opts for the outside lane. Harley ducks into the 120's at 120.

Bernhardt burns a wear at 100 on the Turn 2 line. Hoyt comes up fast on his bumper at 120, scraping off 2 tires on the line.

Turn 5 Deadline: Monday, September 23rd @ 7 a.m. EST (11 a.m. GMT)

Somehow I managed to short Federico 2 wear off the bid (he bid 0w). I've corrected that. Please watch your resources - I am not infallible!

The field gets stretched out in the approach to Turn 5.

Turn 5 Results

Kubala pulls up to Turn 5 on the line at 160. Fritz, at 140, opts for the inside lane. Weisen finishes out the 3/4 complex at 160 and rides up on the leader's bumper.

Snouffer has initiative at 140. He drops another wear in the 100's. Harrington, at 120, clips a tire in the 100's and takes up position on the Chevy's bumper.

Hudson continues at 140 and burns 2 wear in the 100's to extend the conga line. Bertaiola continues at 120 and scrapes off a tire in the 100's.

Benham rolls out of the corner at 100 to complete the conga line. Scarpino drops speed to 120 and exits the corner via the 100's for free.

Bauska taps the brake to 120, running through the 100's for a wear. With his preferred route blocked, Harley gets hung in the corner at 120.

Bernhardt races into the 3/4 complex at 160. He scrubs a wear on the outer rail. Hoyt pulls in front of the complex at 120, opting for the inside lane.

The top half of the field leaves some rubber in Corner 5. The race remains orderly with the exception of one NMR and an unplanned late brake.

Turn 6 Summary

Kubala clips 2 tires on the T5 line at 140 before setting up T6 on the line.

Fritz drops 2 wear in the T5 80 to set up on the bumper of the #22. Weisen burns a wear on the T5 line and takes position behind the Dr. Pepper Toyota.

Snouffer deposits a wear on the T5 line at 120. Harrington and Hudson follow the same path, also for one wear each. Bertaiola settles in front of T5 at 120 on the inner rail.

Benham, at 140, grabs the T5 line. Scarpino takes an RM plot of 140 and slots into the last space available in front of the corner (1st NMR - 1w penalty).

Bauska hits the gas pedal to 160 but can't find any room to park his machine. He late brakes (1w) to 140 and sits on the bumper of the orange racer. Harley finishes out T3/4 at 120.

Bernhardt drops speed to 120, completing the T3/4 complex via the 100's with already paid wear. Hoyt drops 2 wear in the complex at 140 through the 100's to pull alongside the #43.

This turn was a bit of a mess for a few drivers: One NMR, a misplot, and a 'what were you thinking' move! Maybe the back-markers are breathing in too much bad air.

Turn 7 Summary

Kubala extends his lead by scrubbing 2 wear in T6 on the line at 120. Fritz, at 80 and the bonus, falls one space behind but keeps all tires intact. Weisen plots 120 but finds his space occupied by the maroon machine. He burns 2 tires on the outer rail before re-coupling with said machine.

Snouffer finds the exit row in T6 at 120 and 2 wear. Harrington follows at 120 and runs the same route for 2. Hudson finishes out T5 at 120 and grabs the T6 line.

Scarpino gets the initiative at 120 out of the 3-wide. He opts for the middle 80's and 2 wear to grab the line. Benham moves next, also at 120. He clips a tire on the line before diving inside. Bertaiola drops a wear in the T5 80 at 100. He slots into the middle lane to maintain a re-shuffled 3-wide.

Bauska plots 120 and takes the 100's for a wear (?!), staying on the outer rail. Harley takes an RM plot at 100 which puts him through T5 on the line for free (1 wear penalty).

Hoyt's 160 plot puts him into the corner on the line (mis-plot, I assume). That's 2 wear and a roll on the chance table w/ 2s (modified 5). Don't get distracted by Yellowstone bears, Mike! Bernhardt brings up the rear at 140 and settles in on the T5 racing line.

Tires continue to come off in bunches...

Turn 8 Summary

Kubala is determined to maintain his lead as he becomes the first car to hit single digit wear. He burns 2 tires at 140 on the line. Fritz plots 140 but has to push to get there (naked 2). He's not giving up the chase and goes into T8 for 2 wear. Weisen, at 140, preps T8 on the line.

Harrington finishes T6 at 120 with already paid wear. Hudson drops 2 wear on the T6 line before clamping onto the bumper of the #32.

Benham runs T6 at 100 on the inner rail for 2 wear. He lines up behind the blue #72. Scarpino goes next at 100 and clips a tire on the T6 line. Bertaiola scrapes off a wear on the inside of T6 at 80.

Bauska dumps 2 wear on the T6 line at 120 before grabbing the tailpipe of the #2.

Harley sets up T6 on the line at 100. Hoyt drops to 120 and claims the inside rail. Bernhardt runs T5 on the line for free at 100.

Turn 9 Deadline: Wednesday, October 2nd @ 7 a.m. EST (11 a.m. GMT).

When entering the backstretch, lane choice is important. Please specify!

The leaders enter the backstretch with some going outer, some inner rail. The back markers are biding their time. Hudson, snap out of it!

Turn 9 Summary

Kubala rolls through T9 on the outer rail at 160. Fritz finishes out T8 at 140 and falls another car length behind. He stays outside with the leader.

Weisen clips a tire on the T8 line at 120 and opts for the inside lane. Snouffer, also at 120, stays hot on the bumper of the #18 for a wear.

Harrington scrapes off a tire on the T8 line at 120. Hudson takes an RM plot of 120, on the line for a wear. A 2 wear penalty is deducted for his 2nd NPR. At 120, Benham burns 2 wear on the inner rail of T8 and moves up two positions with the bonus.

Scarpino gets the initiative at 120 and grabs the T8 line. Bertaiola pulls into his exhaust at 100. Gatlin gains two spots at 120 and the slip.

Harley has the initiative at 80. He runs the T6 line for free. Hoyt goes inner rail for free at 60 and maintains position. Bernhardt rolls through T6 on the line for free at 80.

Two more NPR's this turn for five total in the race and we're still in the first lap. :tsk:

Turn 10 Summary

Kubala sets up T11 on the line at 160. Fritz loses one more space at 140.

Weisen takes an RM plot of 140 and is docked a 1 wear penalty. Snouffer, at 160, pulls alongside the distracted driver of the M&M's car.

Benham opts for the outer portion of the track at 160. Harrington, also at 160, dives to the inner rail. Harrington pulls into the exhaust of the purple machine at 160.

Bauska clips a tire in the T8 80 spot and stays inside. Scarpino takes an RM plot of 100 (his 2nd for a 2 wear penalty), runs the line for free, and follows the Pro Bass Shop Toyota to the inside. Bertaiola follows the #2 car through T8 on the line at 100.

Hoyt pushes to 140 (naked 5) and races into T8 on the line for 2 wear. Harley, also at 140, finds the line occupied and runs the outer rail for 2 wear. Bernhardt grabs the T8 line at 140.

The leader drops big wear, some back-markers roll dice, and the red pen makes it's first sinister appearance.

I told y'all that lane selection matters on this backstretch. If you go inside for T9, you can NOT access the T11 line!

Turn 11 Summary

Kubala drops to 100 and takes the T11 line for 2 wear before dumping another on in the T13/14 complex. With that burn rate, you'd think he's a start-up internet company. Fritz gets into T11 on the line for 2 wear at 100.

Weisen and Snouffer trade paint through T10 at 120 each.

Harrington pulls into the exhaust of the M&M's car at 140. Benham, at 160, runs the outer lane in T10 to access the line. Hudson pulls up next to the E.J. Wade Ford at 160.

Bauska puts 2 markers on the ACC dice roll to hit 160 (modified 6). Scarpino, at 160 and the bonus, pulls up alongside the Bass Pro Toyota.

Bertaiola attempts 160, requiring both an ACC & TOP roll (naked 8/12). He misses the 2nd roll and, as smoke comes out of the engine, he gets replot to 140.

Hoyt finishes out T8 at 140, opting inner rail. Harley also finishes T8 and tucks in behind the NAPA Chevy. Bernhardt brings up the rear at 100 on the T8 line, conserving his wear for a late race surge.
