Builds are in.

Not may drivers are attempting to play with balance:

+3 Balance (3)
+1 Balance (1)
-1 Balance (1)
-3 Balance (7)

There are no 100 SS cars and three 20 SS cars. One car went with a 180 while another opted for a putt-putt. Tatum, Long, & Rae have identical setups. Ling & Incorpora have the same construction. All other cars are unique.

Start grid bids can ONLY consist of wear! Ties are resolved with 2d6 adjusted by your balance modifier.

Start Bid Deadline: Friday, November 9th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

The starting grid is set. There were two high bids of 6 for the pole. Five bids of 3 for the middle and the balance modifiers did their job in sorting them.

Turn 1 Deadline: Monday, November 12th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

Reminders on pushing start speed:
A roll of >7 = success (minus 1 engine mod)
A roll of 7 = mis-shift (replot at -40, minus 1 engine mod)
A roll of <7 = fail (replot at 0, minus 1 engine mod)

A start speed roll always begins with a -2 modifier.
Both the balance modifier and the engine modifier are applied.

Examples from row 2:
Beckman would have total mods of -1 (-2, -3, +4).
Swaine would have total mods of +5 (-2, +3, +4).

As expected, the three extremely balanced cars push start speed and begin to punish their engines. There's really not much else to say here, so I won't...

As always, please let me know if you see any errors.

Turn 2 Deadline: Wednesday, November 14th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

I just realized I must modify the personal defaults form to accommodate the test rules. I'll send out another email when complete.

An orderly procession into Istanbul as tires start to come off...

Turn 2 Summary

Ling and Swaine have initiative out of the front row at 120 each. They take turns through the Istanbul 80's for 2 wear. Tatum, at 100, clips a tire in the 80's and drops from 1st to 4th.

Beckman, at 100, is able to clear Istanbul through the 60's.

Welage runs into the Istanbul 80s at 120, tossing in 2 wear for the privilege. Rae, also at 120, bumps to the outer rail for 1 wear.

Incorpora and Long trade paint up to the corner at 120 each.

Marvin plots 100 but with no slip requested, falls a space behind. Rando pushes his acceleration to 100 to stay on the wing of the #78.

Kennard pushes to 100 to keep the file in order. Brandt picks it up to 80 but not enough to avoid creation of a gap.

*Note on the ACC pushes: Both cars have +3 Bal and had +3 Engine, for a total of +6 to the dice. That's a no-fail situation so no dice were actually rolled.

Swaine really wanted that line and is showing off what can be done with balance.

Turn 3 Summary

Swaine plots 180(!) and has to use an Acc test to get there (+3 bal, +3 engine = autopass). He then late brakes to 140 using a wear and a brake test (+3 bal, +2 brk; 10 = pass) and damnit, he has the line! Ling was conceding the line anyway at 120. He nabs the line in the next row.

Beckman, at 140, slides to the inside of the #88. Tatum plots 120 and settles in behind the NAPA Chevy. No place to use that double slip, unfortunately.

Welage finishes out Istanbul at 120 before grabbing the tailpipe on the black & yellow machine. Rae tucks in behind the #27, also at 120.

Incorpora knocks down 2 wear at 120 through the Istanbul 80's. Long looks to play the long game (ha ha) by conserving tires at 100 on the outer rail for free.

Marvin drops 2 wear in the Istanbul 60 at 100. Rando clips a tire in the 60 spot at 80.

Kennard punches through the Istanbul 80's at 120 for 2 wear. Brandt pulls up to Istanbul in the middle lane at 120.

We get the trigger with all plots in. A good amount of wear is expended this turn but half of it is from non-productive late braking. As Brandt predicted... quite a traffic jam.

Turn 4 Summary

Swaine drops 2 wear on the Ankara line. Somehow the #25 car will have to find a way to make it through this race with only 7 wear left.

Beckman, at 80, clips a tire in the Ankara 60's. Ling, also at 80, burns a wear in the 60's and stays next to the #24.

Tatum plots 80 but, with the end row blocked, late brakes to 60 for a wear and jumps on the line. Welage rolls into the Ankara 60's at 80 for a wear.

Both Rae & Incorpora plot 100. They both have to siphon off a wear to late brake to 80. Rae has the line.

At 120, Long has no place to go. He scrapes off a tire on the late brake and takes the line. Marvin must've see the writing on the wall. He plots 80 and encounters no problems on the track.

Kennard, at 160, must brake down to 140 with a wear expenditure. Fortunately, the conservative plotting of the #78 left a hole for him to sneak into. At 120, Rando slides in behind the green machine.

Brandt takes it easy through the Istanbul 80's at 80 while pondering the mess far in front of him with amusement.

Tatum creates havoc in Ankara!

Turn 5 Summary

Swaine continues to burn wear (2) at 120 through the Izmir line while cooling his brakes (return a -1 chit to the pool as he passes a time trap).

Beckman punches out of Ankara at 140. Ling leaves some speed on the table at 120.

Tatum eschews a bump in speed, maintaining 60 on the line. Welage finishes out Ankara at 80 to complete the roadblock.

Incorpora has the initiative at 100. He clips 2 tires in the Ankara 60's then must late brake (1w) to 80. Rae wisely plots 60 and gets the line for free.

Kennard, at 80, runs the Ankara 60's for a wear. Long, with the line blocked, takes the circuitous route through Ankara, also for a wear.

Rando has the initiative at 100. With all his preferred options shut down, he late brakes to 60 with a wear and a dice roll (+3 bal, +2 brk; 9 = pass). He runs the line for free. Marvin, at 80, burns off a tire through the 60's.

Brandt pulls up to Ankara on the line and finds himself in contact with the field, perhaps sooner than he expected.

An orderly turn for all...

Turn 6 Summary

Swaine hits the Bursa line at 120 for free.

Beckman burns a tire on the Izmir line at 100. Ling, at 80, runs the same line for free.

Welage pulls up to Izmir at 120 on the inside, leaving the line open (really, John?). Tatum is more than happy to grab the line.

Incorpora, Rae, Kennard, & Long move along in a big pack at 120 to keep the pace.

Rando increases speed to 80 and completes Ankara. Marvin stayed at 80 (he could have gone 100) and sits astride the red racer.

Brandt continues to watch from the back, taking the Ankara line for free at 60.

Turn 7 Deadline: Saturday, November 24th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

Generally i do not believe anyone has to explain their move(s). That said ,this is a move i feel i would like to explain since the Marshal,in the race comments ,has accused me of conclusion. Does the rule of no derogatory comments apply only to the players? The last turn i had a choice of having the line in Izmir or Bursa, you can not get both lines(unless you want to 60 over, which i did not want.) my plan to grab Bursa line and blast off with 180 next turn.Obviously the Marshal got" over his skis "on this one.and felt i was helping don.( there's a player that needs help.). kid

Sorry about the 'really, John?' comment. I wouldn't consider it derogatory but I should've kept the thought to myself, regardless.

You can get both lines.

An NPR :frown:. I forgot to re-order the cars by place in the chart. I'll get it right next turn.

Turn 7 Summary

Swaine finishes out both Bursa & Adana at 120. Beckman and Ling both take the Bursa line at 120.

Welage clips 2 tires in the Izmir 80's at 120. He has the Bursa line. Tatum knocks off a wear on the Izmir line at 100 and takes the open inside lane in front of Bursa.

Incorpora takes an RM plot of 80 on the Izmir outer rail. The line is left open for the others. Rae runs the Izmir line at 80 for free.

Kennard gets the line for free at 80. Long, also at 80, gets pushed to the outer rail.

Rando flies into Izmir on the line for 2 wear at 120. He also cools his brakes at the time trap. Marvin, also at 120, scrapes off 2 wear on the outer lane.

Brandt approaches Izmir at 120.

The lead car readies for the backstretch while the back half of the field gets stoppered up.

Turn 8 Summary

Swaine runs Gaziantep at 120 on the line for free and is cleared for take-off.

Beckman hits Adana on the line at 140. Ling clips a tire on the Adana line at 160 before grabbing the tailpipe on the NAPA Chevy.

Welage has the initiative at 160. He burns 2 wear on the Bursa line before dropping another on the Adana line. Tatum runs the outer rail on Bursa at 140 for a wear. He clears Adana on the line.

Rae takes the Bursa 100's at speed for free and is the cause of the traffic jam behind him.

Kennard, at 120, gets pushed to the outer rail in Bursa. Incorpora takes a 2nd RM plot at 100. He has the wing of the #6.

Rando flies out of Izmir at 140 but, with no space on the track, brakes down to 120 on the dice (+3 bal, -1/+2 bk; 11 = pass). He then takes the Bursa line for free. Long plots 120 but also finds a blocked track. He late brakes to 100 for a wear before taking the Bursa line.

Marvin finishes out Izmir at 120 and finds just enough wiggle room to park his car in Bursa. Brandt takes the Izmir line at a leisurely 80 with no traffic to concern him.

The primary chase cars move through Gazientep while the pack of cars in the back are wondering how they'll get through.

Turn 9 Summary

Swaine pushes his engine to get to his top speed of 180 (bal +3, eng +2; 12 = pass). When he hits the time trap, the brakes are completely cooled off and ready to go again.

Beckman clips a tire at 140 through the Gaziantep line. Ling takes the line for free at 120 but is able to stay on the wing of the blue machine with the bonus.

Welage runs the Gaziantep line at 120 for free. Tatum burns a wear in the Gaziantep line at 140 and will be able to increase speed next turn.

Rae bolts out of Bursa at 160, dropping a wear on the Adana line.

Kennard runs Adana for free at 120. Rando does the same to pull up on the side panel of the #6.

Incorpora runs the Adana line at 120. Long increases speed up to the corner limit of 120 and ducks inside of the #33.

Marvin continues at 100 and sets up Adana on the line. Brandt runs the Bursa line at 120 before grabbing the bumper on the #78.

Half the field is now spread out along the back stretch.

Turn 10 Summary

Swaine continues to rumble down the straight-away with his big engine. Braking issues ahead?

Beckman is constrained by his putt-putt engine at 140. Ling pulls up alongside the slower car at 160.

Welage flies out of Gaziantep at 160. Tatum is able to keep the pace at 160 by virtue of the increasing speed limit in the corner.

Rae rams his car through Gaziantep on the line at 160 for 2 wear.

Kennard, at 140, clips a tire on the Gaziantep line. Rando plots 140 then late brakes to 120 for a wear, lining up behind the Valvoline Ford.

Long, at 140, takes the tight corner in Gaziantep for 2 wear before pulling alongside the #6 with the bonus.* Incorpora runs the outer rail in Gaziantep at 140 and a cost of 1 tire.**

Marvin pulls up to Gaziantep at 140 on the line after traversing Adana on the line. Brandt stays attached to the bumper of the #78, also at 140.

* Chris did not request a slip but it was in his personal defaults.
** Giuseppe did not request a slip and has no personal defaults in place.

Trigger turn!

Turn 11 Summary

Swaine plots 140 then late brakes to 120 on the dice (+3 bal, +2 bk; 12 = pass). He runs Konya on the outer rail for 2 wear.

Ling has initiative at 160 and goes outside to shake a potential tail. The maneuver works as Beckman plots 140 and stays to the inside.

Welage rolls down the straight at 160. Tatum pulls even at 160 and the bonus.

Rae has some clean air in the middle of the pack at 160.

Kennard drops the hammer and pushes to 180 (bal +3, eng +2; 13 = pass). Long, at 160, ducks in on the wing of the speedy #2 machine.

Rando, with a smile on his face, enters the backstretch at 160 and gets the coveted double bonus. Incorpora finishes out Gaziantep at 140.

Marvin drops two tires on the Gaziantep line at 160. Brandt takes the Gaziantep line at 120 for free but still loses contact even with the bonus.
