In my experience, Montreal is a track that lends itself to many different strategies and car styles. Well, you have collectively built a lot of different cars!

- Only two cars used the same set-up (Ingraham and Scarpino).
- Two cars with 20 ss and four cars with 100 ss.
- Two cars with small engines (140) and three cars go big (180).
- ACC & DEC vary from 20 to 80.
- All wear and skill options are covered.

Start Bid Deadline: Wednesday, January 9th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

Note: I know some of you sent bids with your builds. That's fine but in the future, please limit your orders to the current turn only. I'm running two races right now and it's plenty hard keeping track of current events. You may, of course, send advance plots if warranted by personal situations.

The grid is set and the green flag is ready to drop! Here's your grid...

Grid Position Driver (Flag) / Car # Mfr. Sponsor

1. Stephen Peeples (Auburn University) / #7 Chevy Accell Construction
2. Sam Simmerman (Great Britain) / #22 Ford Pennzoil
3. Mike Hoyt (Colorado) / #24 Chevy NAPA
4. Kevin Harrington (Colorado) / #32 Ford E.J. Wade Foundation
5. Russell Harley (Great Britain) / #27 Chevy Richmond Water Heaters
6. Tim Burnett (United States) / #19 Toyota Subway
7. Federico Scarpino (Italy) / #2 Ford Miller Lite
8. David Ingraham (United States) / #78 Toyota Furniture Row
9. Luca Bertaiola (Italy) / #96 Toyota Triad CNC
10. Jerome Weisen (United States Navy) / #99 Chevy Whataburger
11. Paul Bernhardt (Frostburg State University) / #43 Ford Smithfield
12. Michael Lind (Virginia) / #11 Toyota FedEx

The high bid was 8 for the pole (amazingly, all skill). Three of four 100 start speed cars are in the first 2 rows with the fourth in the 3rd row. The 20 SS cars, as expected are starting towards the rear. The best bargain goes to Simmerman who finds the front row by bidding 1/2 point higher than Hoyt.

In the chart, Grand Prix points are being tracked. The drivers with green numbers would be advancing to C3 next season if the race ended right now (Harley wins the tie-break over Hoyt). Of course the race is not ending right now so much can change.

Turn 1 Deadline: Friday, January 11th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

Reminder for new drivers: You can push your start speed by 20 mph. This entails a dice roll which you could then apply skill to. The dice roll charts can be found here: http://redscape.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=2587.

Drive fast, take chances, and good luck!

Half the field goes to the dice cup on the start. All pass but a couple of them needed every skill point put into the roll.

Turn 1 Summary

Peeples pushes to 120 with a big chip and good thing he did (modified 8). He rolls into the Senna 80's for 2 wear. Simmerman also uses his big chip on the start at 120 (modified 4). He clips a tire in the Senna 100's.

Hoyt deposits 2 skill into his dice roll (modified 4). At 120, he takes an inside path into Senna for a wear. Harrington pushes to 80 w/ 2 skill (modified 3) and hugs the rail.

Burnett has the initiative out of row 3 at 100. He pulls up on the numbers of the purple machine. Harley keeps the dice in the cup at 60.

Both Scarpino and Ingraham go to the dice at 80 w/ 2 skill apiece (modified 8 & 7, respectively). A little too close for comfort but they both make it and as a result create a three-wide going into Senna.

No dice for the back two rows: Bertaiola at 60, Weisen at 20, Lind at 60, and Bernhardt at 20.

Sorry for the lateness... lazy snow day at home w/ the kids.

Turn 2 Summary

Peeples continues at 120 and dumps a wear in Corner 3. Simmerman gets initiative at 120. He burns a tire in Corner 3 and taps the bumper on the #7 car.

Hoyt drops 2 wear in the Senna 60 at 100. He stays even with the yellow machine.

Harrington burns a wear in the Senna 80's at 100. Burnett, also at 100, scrapes off 2 tires in the Senna 60.

Harley takes down 2 wear at 140 in the Senna 100's. Scarpino, at 120, runs in on the tailpipe of the #27 for a wear. Ingraham rolls into Senna at 100. He drops a wear in the 80's.

Bertaiola pushes his engine with a skill chip to get to 120 (modified 5). He runs into Senna for a wear. Lind, at 100 and the bonus*, tucks in behind the #96 Toyota.

Weisen's big engine easily puts him up to 100. Bernhardt accelerates to 80.

* Lind's plot did not specify to take a slip but since he had his personal defaults set, he was able to use it. Here's the default form if you haven't filled it out: https://goo.gl/forms/EpKunhZFNdRbdPnM2

Busy day - thanks for your patience!

Pretty smooth this turn with the exception of an NPR.

Turn 3 Summary

Peeples takes C4 through the 120's for free at 120. He then hits the Concorde line for 2 wear.

Simmerman follows the same route at 120, also getting dinged for 2 wear. Hoyt, at 100, takes C4 for free but with the line occupied gets pushed out to the 80's for a wear.

Burnett runs C3 and C4 at 100 for free. Harrington does the same.

Harley continues at 100, taking C3 for free. Scarpino continues at 120 and rolls through C3 in the 120's for free.

Ingraham stays at 100, pulling even with the Miller Lite livery.

Bertaiola takes an RM plot of 100 and defaults to the outside in C3. Not terribly punishing for an NPR but certainly not helpful. Lind plots 120 but not being a legal move, is replotted to 100. He takes the outer rail for free.

Weisen rolls into the Senna curve at 100 and tacks to the outside for free. Bernhardt races into Senna at 120 for a wear and tucks in behind the orange racer.

Turn 4 Deadline: Friday, January 18th @ 4 p.m. EST (9 p.m. GMT).

The lead car gets a clean break-away from the peleton...

Turn 4 Summary

Peeples pulls up to Corner 8 on the line at 140. Simmerman continues through the Concorde at 120, falling back from the race leader.

Hoyt finishes up Concorde in the 80's with already paid wear. Burnett clips a tire in the Concorde line at 100.

Harrington takes the Concorde line for free at 80. Harley follows the purple machine into the corner, also at 80.

Scarpino rolls through Corner 4 at 120 for free. With the line occupied he is forced into the 80's for 2 wear. Ingraham, at 100, burns off some speed in the C4 120's before grabbing the Concorde line.

Bertaiola increases speed to 120 and drops a wear in the C4 100. He sits on the inside of the black Toyota. Lind takes the 100's in both C3 & C4 for free at 100.

Weisen finishes out Senna at 100. Bernhardt completes Senna at 120, taking the C3 120's for free.

Steady as she goes...

Turn 5 Summary

Peeples drops a wear on the Corner 8 line at 120. Simmerman and Hoyt follow suit, both at 120 and a wear.

Burnett pulls up to C8 on the line at 100. Harrington, at 120, tucks in behind the green Toyota.

Harley maintains speed at 80 to clear the corner. Scarpino finishes out the Concorde at 120 and slides in front of the #27.

Bertaiola runs the Concorde 80's at 120 for 2 wear. Ingraham can't find room when using the line so must burn off speed in the Concorde 80's for a wear.

Lind runs the Concorde line for free at 80. Weisen hits the same line at 100 for a wear while Bernhardt stays on his bumper, also at 100.

Some risky driving does not pay off for the #27...

Turn 6 Summary

Peeples pulls up to the Epingle on the outer lane at 140. Simmerman leaves some horses in the barn at 140 and with the Epingle coming up, a seemingly sensible move. Hoyt races down the straight at 160 to catch the tail of the yellow racer.

Burnett burns 2 tires on the Corner 8 line. Harrington saves the wear at 100 but earns the bonus space. Scarpino runs C8 for free at 100.

Harley plots 140 and dives into C8 with 2 wear and a chance roll. He puts 2 skill into the roll (modified 6) to keep the car on the track. Here's where it goes sideways... He attempts a naked forced pass on the blocking #2 (4+5+2mod = 11). Not only does the attempt fail, but the '4' leaves Harley with some body damage. He must now late brake to 100, costing 2 more wear for a total burn rate of 5 wear. Note: I forgot to take off the skill and will adjust next turn.

Bertaiola rolls into C8 at 100 but has not choice but to go outside. Ingraham pull up to C8 on the line at 100. Lind fall in behind the #78 at 120.

Weisen* increases speed to 120 as he exits the corner. Bernhardt drops 2 wear on the Concorde line and continues to sit on the bumper of the orange machine.

*Note: I failed to take wear from Weisen's car last turn. It has been adjusted accordingly.

The cars have really spread out on the track while a back marker grabs the dice cup!

Turn 7 Summary

Peeples clips 2 tires on the outer line of the Epingle. Simmerman and Hoyt follow in succession for 2 wear apiece with Hoyt getting hung in the corner.

Burnett addresses the Epingle on the outer line at 140. Harrington, at 160, requested a line (he did not specify) so he was given the fastest by Redscape default.

Harley finishes out Corner 8 at 100 through the last 80 spot. Bertaiola continues through the 100's and leaves the line open for those behind as he opts for the middle lane.

Ingraham drops a wear on the C8 line and pulls alongside the #27. Lind is feeling frisky as he plots 160. He rolls through C8 on the line for 2 wear and tosses in a big chip on a chance roll (modified 3). He keeps the car on the pavement and slides in front of the #78 car.

Weisen, at 100, finds the C8 line for free. Bernhardt also clears C8 on the line for free at 100.

Big numbers from the back markers...

Turn 8 Summary

Peeples' putt-putt engine gives it all it's got at 140. Simmerman, at 160, pulls up on the bumper of the Accell Chevy. Hoyt finishes out the Epingle at 120.

Burnett runs the outer line in Epingle for 2 wear chips. Harrington plots 100, an over-brake. That costs him a wear then another on the Epingle line. He does get the bonus.

Scarpino burns 2 tires on the Epingle line (outer). Lind pulls up to Epingle on the outside at 140.

Harley, at 160, grabs the middle lane. Ingraham slots to the inside at 140 and the bonus.

Bertaiola drops 2 skill on the Acc table (modified 4) and opts for an inside lane, eschewing all the lines. Weisen brings his big engine up to 180 to pull alongside the white machine.

Bernhardt pushes his Accel w/ 2 skill (modified 9) to max out at 180. With the big double bonus, he leaps past two cars and onto the outer line of Epingle.

The back half of the field lays down some rubber. A few drivers forget how much brake they have...

Turn 9 Summary

Peeples continues down the Casino straight at 140. Simmerman over-brakes to 120, costing a wear to do so. With the bonus, he stays on the tail of the leader.

Hoyt plays catch-up with the leaders at 160. Burnett maxes out his engine at 140.

Harrington pulls even with the green racer at 160. Scarpino finishes out Epingle at 120 with wear already paid.

Ingraham knocks down 2 wear at 80 before blocking the inside racing line. This causes a problem for Harley who is racing into that line at 100 for 2 wear. Unless otherwise instructed, Redscape uses wear before dice - 1 tire comes off the #27 car for the late brake to 80.

Lind has no issues on the outer line at 120 for 2 wear. Bernhardt over-brakes to 100 (1 wear) then clips a tire on the outer line. He earns the bonus.

Weisen has the initiative at 120 and burns 2 tires on the outside Epingle line. Bertaiola grabs the dice cup with 1s to over-brake to 80 (modified 7). He scrapes off 2 wear on the inner rail.

The dice cup comes out as the crowd roars with approval for the big speeds down the Casino straight.

Turn 10 Summary

Peeples clips 2 tires in the Wall of Champions at 120. Simmerman keeps up at 100 and the bonus, scrubbing a wear in the process.

Hoyt pulls up to the chicane at 120 on the line. Harrington gets in line at 160. Burnett completes the mini-conga at 140.

Scarpino rolls down the Casino straight at 160. Lind pulls out his stash of skill and grabs the dice cup to hit 180 (Acc w/2s; modified 5 = pass: Top w/2s; modified 0 = pass). Ingraham eases down the straight at 140.

Bernhardt pushes with 2s to obtain his top speed of 180 (modified 1). He fills in the empty space between two cars. Harley, at 160, pulls even with the Furniture Row Toyota.

Weisen easily gets the initiative as he pushes his already huge engine to 200 w/ 2s (modified 6). He slides in front of the black and yellow machine. Bertaiola's lack of torque leads him to push w/ 1s to get to 140 (modified 5) as he brings up the rear.

The lead cars are into the second lap!

Turn 11 Summary

Peeples and Simmerman both plot 140. The former gets into Senna for a wear while the latter will enter next turn.

Hoyt slows to 80 on the chicane line, causing an issue for the next racer.

Harrington, at 120, is denied the line. To avoid a chance roll, he takes his speed down to 100 with a wear then drops 2 more in the 60's. Burnett runs the Wall of Champions line at 100, tossing in a wear for the privilege.

Scarpino pulls up to the chicane at 120 on the line. Lind plots 140 before late braking to 120 with a wear. He maintains the bumper of the Miller Lite Ford.

Weisen has the initiative at 160 and with the inside lane, moves up three positions on the leaderboard. Bernhardt, at 120 and with the bonus, runs to the inside of the #11.

Ingraham stays on the tailpipe of the baby blue machine at 140. Harley makes it a three-wide going into the Wall at 140 and the bonus space.

Bertaiola brings out the horses at 180. He joins the big pack in front of the chicane.
