I created a super-double-secret strategy forum for our team games. It's right below fantasy sports. The following sets of eyes are allowed to see it:

SLOTerp
bbauska
Archduke Russell John
georgeatkins
jadthegrey

If you want to be on this exclusive list, you'll have to play some WS&IM and prove you're not a spy for another team.

I doubt he'll have any problems getting an 'A' team together. We're going to get slaughtered!

Anyway, who's up for a good beat down? Think of it as a learning experience.

Derek is putting his team together. I assume he'll let me know when he's ready (there's a thread he replied to in the YPI forums).

Here's the current Redscape team:

Mike
Brad
Tim
George

Russell, once we get going, you're welcome to chime in on strategy. I'll post updates in our private forum.

Ok, fellas, they've got three and are ready. Bill (Longneck) has proposed Brittania v. Gibraltar. That one has both the SOL's and frigates.

I would be happy to sit out and play Admiral on these (2 games, play each side). Derek has beat me down good on this one before but maybe I learned something?

I'll post in our forums and email you with the passwords when the games are set.

I have several of the old AH Generals in PDF format containing strategy/tactics for WS&IM. I don't have a place to post them, but I could email them if anybody is interested. Just leave your email address.

Good idea, George. Tell me which issues they are and I can see if they're online. If so, I'll post the links (I'm going to post one now).

Speaking of...

Does anyone have the rules to Gettysburg (the 71 version)?

I checked at Boardgamegeek - the rules are not posted there. It seems there are some copies being emailed around by BGG users so you could try posting there. If you want to drop a few bucks, this offer was mentioned: http://www.ahgeneral.org/gameparts/gettysburg.htm

I don't own that one, otherwise I'd take pics for you.

Games are set. Please go to our double-super-duper-secret strategy room to discuss ships & strategy.

George, you got an email just in case?

So, Redscape community, how is the Redscape team doing against the vile competition in WS&IM (all of whom are ringers and old salts)?

Well, we've only had one turn and our ships are already fouled! Coordinating moves is HARD. See L'Orient and Solitaire below...

I'll check back in here with updates on occasion.

That's fine, Admiral. Just post our orders in the two game forums. You may want to post two moves at a time, or at least enumerate the orders (e.g. turn 3, turn 4) so we keep them straight.

It sure is pretty, but I don't know anything about the game mechanics. Looking for a demo...

It sure does look nice. Did you view the blog with the 25 minute game view? You can see on-screen commands/options at the bottom as the recorded play moves along. But what is odd is that I don't see any humans. Just ships moving and firing. Kind of strange.

But the postings I saw seem to suggest that support and responses from developers is non-existent. In fact, the last seems to have been March 2015.

There are very nice features the developers want, such as players discovering the world, so no map. Like Tom's Explore! variant. There will be people, it seems, so the Youtube video is just an alpha demo, I guess.

But is this thing still alive? I don't know. Lots of questions on the user forum, though.
