Hello drivers. I am Jack Beckman, your Steward for this race. I have met quite a few of you in person, and several others online, but for those who don't know me, I have been racing for several years now, and I steward a race in Doug's ladder. I am also one of the founders of the Detroit CFR racing series, and will be taking over the duties as Steward there this year. So I have some experience.

That's doesn't mean I always get things right, so if you feel I have done something in error, PLEASE point it out as soon as you can so we can straighten it out, because there's a fair chance I did mess up.

Standard Redscape CFR rules will apply with the following exception: You may accelerate in a corner as long as it does not cause additional wear usage (or a chance roll) in the next space. The original rule only allows an increase in speed when no additional wear is used in the entire corner.

Plots will normally be due Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by 5 PM ET (US) unless I say otherwise. Real Life occasionally does intrude. I will acknowledge receipt of your plot; if you don't have an acknowledgement and it's getting close to the deadline, send it again or otherwise get in thought with me. My primary email is jbeckman@beckmanjm.com, but you can also reach me at jack.beckman@gmail.com or jcbeckman&mac.com if you suspect you aren't getting through to me otherwise.

I will be using a template created from one of Doug's spreadsheets, since it so nicely does so many calculations. This does mean the look will be slightly different from the Redscape look you saw before, and your cars will be different. I did try to match car colors as closely as possible to the previous race. However, I only have the 12 cars, so if you aren't happy with what I assigned, you'll need to find someone to switch with.

Car builds are due Monday, 7 January @ 5 PM ET (US). I will then send out the car builds to everyone and bids will be due Wednesday, 9 January @ 5 PM ET.

I have Builds from Doug and Chris already, so I have blurred out their stats for now.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Drivers,

Here's the bidding result. We had two ties, resolved via percentile die rolls.

Redscape C1 Bid Result.png

And here's your starting grid:

Redscape C1 Starting Grid.png

Plots are due Monday, 11 Jan @ 5 PM ET. Late plots will be your start speed -20 (I have confirmed this with the other stewards) so don't be an NPR (No Plot Received)!

The lights go off and the cars roar off the grid!

Pole-sitter Don chooses not to push (putting him in the minority of drivers), going 100 into the inside.

Doug blinks and misses the lights going out (AUTO, NPR) and so goes 80 (SS-20) behind Don.

Dave pushes his start with 2 skill to 120 and succeeds (roll=7) and pulls nearly alongside Don for 2nd.

Jim also pushes with 2 skill to 120 (3), spending 1w on the 100s and sliding into 4th.

Chris pushes his SS with 2 sk (4) to 80 and is 5th.

Tim is one of the few drivers not pushing, using his 60 SS to end up 6th.

John pushes his SS with 2 sk (4) to 80 and is 7th.

Jeff also pushes with 2 sk (4, sorry I forgot to add to the graphic) to pull alongside John for 8th.

Fabio gets the jump on Will by pushing with a -3 chip (1) to 80 and is 9th.

Will is another driver content to not temp fate, running at 60.

Rando pushes his 100 to 120 with 2 sk (7) only to late brake to 100 with a wear when there’s no room at the inn for him.

Mike also pushes his 20 SS to 40 with 2 sk (2).

Next plot due Wednesday, 16 Jan @ 5 PM ET (US).

Don maintains 100, using 2w on the 60 and then using the 100 for 2w.

Dave slows to 100, taking the 80s for free (already paid for 20-over).

Jim stays at 120, spending an extra wear on the 80s.

Doug maintains 80 for free on the 80s.

Chris takes the 80s at 100 for 1w, ending up alongside Doug.

John gets the jump on Jeff and Jim by running at 120, then late braking to 100 (2 skill, roll=6) and diving to the inside to clear the corner for 2w.

Jeff also runs at 120 for 2w, staying in the center/outside lane and also clearing the corner alongside John.

Tim runs at 100 for only 1w behind Jeff.

Fabio runs to the insider free (this turn at least) and ends up behind John.

Will takes the center lane at 120 for 1w.

Rando (NPR) runs to the outside at 100 for free.

Mike runs up to the corner at 100.

Next plot due Friday, 18 Jan @ 5 PM ET (US).

Don takes the line at 100 for 1w.

Dave follows at 100, also grabbing the line.

Jim runs at 120, but wants the line, and so takes the 120s for free so as to fall in behind Dave.

Chris gets the jump on Doug at 120, takes the 120s through Corner 3, then stops on the inside of Corner 4 for 1w.

Doug runs at 100, and is forced to the 120s on the outside of Corner 4.

John was hoping to go further with his 120, but with Corner 4 blocked he takes the 120s for free.

Jeff does the same and winds up back alongside John at 120 for free.

Tim finishes out the 1/2 complex then takes the inside of Corner 3 for free at 100.

Fabio slows to 80 and takes the end of the corner for 1 on the 60.

Will slows to 100 and takes the 80s for 1w.

Rando finishes out the corner at 100.

Mike takes the center lane of the corner at 100 for 1w to clear.

Next plot due Monday, 21 Jan @ 5 PM ET (S). I realize this is a holiday for some of you, but you have three days, so hopefully this will not be a problem.

Don speeds up to 120 (for free, already paid for 20-over) and heads down the straight.

Dave runs the corner at 80 for free, blocking the end of the line.

Jim runs the corner at 100, going off-line for 2w but taking over 2nd place.

Chris takes the line at 80 for free and blocks it up further.

Doug, at 100, is forced off-line, and chooses the 100s, paying 2w for the 60 space.

John gets the jump on Jeff at 120, but with few options, takes the 120s for free then the 80s for 2.

Jeff only did 100, allowing him to take the 120s and then the line for 1w, and take over 6th.

Tim also did 120, and finds even few options; he takes the 120s for free and then the first 80 space for 2w.

Fabio was a NPR; he runs at 120 on the 120s then to the inside, off-line.

Will does 100 through the 100 and then grabs the line.

Rando does 100 over both 100s for free, and pulls inside of Will for 10th.

Mike runs the 100s at 100s for free.

Next plot due Wednesday, 23 Jan @ 5 PM ET (US).

Dave slots in behind Jim at 120 for 1w.

Chris exists at 120 and grabs the next line.

Doug pushes his ACC to 40 with 2 skill (roll=4) and so pulls alongside Chris at 140 (his +40 paid for last turn).

John gets the jump on Jeff by going 140 through the 100s (his +40 already paid for) allowing him to take over 6th.

Jeff pulls alongside John at 120, his 20-over already paid.

Tim finishes out the corner at 120, slotting behind John.

Fabio does 100 over the 60/80 spaces (did not have the line) for 2w and pulls behind Tim.

Will gets the drop on Rando by doing 120 over the line for 2w and pulls alongside Fabio for 10th.

Rando takes the corner at 80 for free.

Mike takes the long way through Corner 4 at 100 and gets the line for 1w behind Rando.

Chris takes the line at 120 for 1w and pulls along side Doug.

John takes the line at 120 for 1 and with the slip from Doug pulls along side Chris.

Jeff, figuring there would be no room (or at least we’ll say that) runs the line at 100 for free, and uses the slip to pull up behind John.

Jim does likewise.

Dave takes the outside line behind Jim at 140.

Chris does the same behind Dave at 160.

Jeff does 140 and with a slip is able to drop to the inside and take 5th.

John does 140 as well and lines up next to Doug.

Doug (NPR 2 for this lap) does 140.

Will tests his Top to get to 180 (1 skill, roll=2) but then has nowhere to go and spends a wear to slow to 160.

Tim gets the slip from Will and runs 160, pulling along side.

Fabio runs down the straight at 140.

Rando takes the previous corner at 120 for 1w.

Please note the addition of Tim Mossman; Don will be unable to respond to some turns for a bit, and so Tim will take over for those turns. If you thought driver changes at Le Mans and Daytona were exciting, try changing when the car doesn’t stop!

Don speeds up to 140 and heads down the straight.

Jim completes the corner at 120.

Dave takes the corner at 120 for 2w on the outside.

Chris does likewise at 120 for 2w and gets a slip from Dave to pull along side.

Jeff takes the outside at 100 but without benefit of the line, spending 2w over the 60s.

John takes the inner line for 100 and 2w to pull ahead of Jeff.

Doug, at 100, has limited options, and so he chooses to dive to the inside for 2w and a Chance, using his -3 chip and rolling a modified 2. He also got a slip from Chris, allowing him to pull alongside Chris as he picks up 2 positions.

Tim gets the jump on Will at 120, but finds nowhere to go, and so rolls to late brake (naked) succeeding with a 7. He goes to the center line for 2w.

Will takes the outside line at 100 for 1w.

Fabio also takes the outside line at 120 for 2w.

Rando grabs the center line at 140.

Mike goes 160, pulling along side Rando.

Don heads down the straight at 140.

Jim does likewise.

Dave and Chris both do 160 to pull alongside Jim.

Doug pushes his ACC with 1 sk (roll 3) to get to 140 and latch on to the pack.

John does 160 to catch up to Doug.

Jeff also does 160 to stay on John’s wing.

Tim and will complete the previous corner at 100.

Fabio NPRs (#2) and so goes to the outside while finishing the corner.

Rando goes outside at 120 for 2w in the corner.

Mike save wear taking the outside at 100 for 1w.

Lots of dice rolling. *Most* drivers are happy with the outcomes...

Don takes the Wall of Champions corner at 120 for 2.

Jim opts to run up the line at 160 (testing his Top to get there, 1 sk = 5 OK) and needing the inside and P2 to Dave, who also runs at 160.

Chris also did 160, but really wanted the line, and so opts to late brake by rolling the bones (1 sk, 10 = Fail). Unfortunately, his brakes can’t take the strain; he burns a wear and his Decel is now 20.

Doug runs up at 120 and with the slip lines up behind Chris.

John runs up at 140.

Jeff does likewise and gets a slip from John.

Tim pushes his ACC to go +60 to 160, (roll=5).

Will pushes his ACC (1 sk, 8) and his Top (1 sk, 4) to get to 180.

Fabio used to 2 sk (roll=7) to test Top and get to 160.

Rando uses 2 sk to test Top (roll =5) and get to 160.

Mike appreciates the slip as he goes 160 and pulls alongside Rando.

Next plot due Wednesday, 6 Feb @ 5 PM ET (US).

Don pulls out of the corner at 140.

Jim gets the jump on Dave, going 120 on the line for 2w.

Dave pulls in behind Jim at 100 over the 60s for 2w after overbraking (roll=4).

Chris runs the line at 120 and gets a slip from Jim, pulling him into 3rd ahead of Dave.

Doug runs the line at 100 for 1w, getting a slip from Chris.

John takes the line for 100 and 1w.

Jeff is blocked from the line and so takes the 60s at 100 for 2w, pulling along side John.

Will pulls up to the line at 120.

Tim (NPR) slams the brakes, overbraking and extra -40 from 160 to 80 so that next plot he can enter the corner for free. (NPR before the Wall of Champions = bad idea.)

Fabio dives inside to take 8th place at 140.

Mike dives inside of Tim at 160.

Rando lines up behind Mike at 140.

Next plot due Friday, 8 Feb @ 5PM ET (US).
