A Final push results in one position (and one point) gained.

Turn 16 summary:
Ales finishes comfortably at 160 for third place. Brandt takes a slip from Ales but it's not enough to move up. Rae keeps safe at 160. Polcen goes for the pass with a naked top speed roll (6) and finishes P5. (Disregard the dice roll on Ling's line, oops)

Drivers: let me know if you are going to adjust your car during the interval. Since there is no damage no one will be repairing. If you are not going to make any adjustments you may send your next turn. If I get all turns with no adjustments by Wednesday I will adjudicate. The "official" deadline for turn 17 is Friday, Jul 13.

The starting grid for lap 2.

No surprise three drivers move a point to top speed: Brandt from start speed, Ales from skill and Ling from deceleration. Polcen moves a point from wear to start speed. Rae and Tatum make no adjustment and will start from the front row.

Lap 2 is underway.

Turn 17 summary:
Rae pushes his start with two skill (modified 6) and grabs the racing line. Tatum starts at 100 and sits on the line behind the red car. Polcen, also at 100, finishes the queue for the corner.

Brandt is happy with his 60 start speed, keeping Inside. Ling tries to push to 120 with two skill but a modified 9 forces him to replot to 80. Ales passes a two skill push roll (modified 5) and now has the initiative at 80, finishing outside Brandt. Ling's (now) 80 move makes it three wide.

Verriere strings out the field.

Turn 18 summary:
Rae uses one skill to push to 180 (modified 4) shedding two wear on the racing line. Tatum runs the line at 140 for free but the double slip keeps him on Rae's wing. Polcen also does 140 along the line and gets a slip but loses touch with Tatum.

Ling gets the jump out of the three-wide at 160, dropping one wear on the line and grabbing P4. Brandt follows the line at 120 clearing the corner. Ales also plots 120 but is forced around the outside to avoid the yellow car.

Next deadline: turn 19 due Wednesday, Jul 18 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Reminder: after turn 19 the "official" deadline will be Aug 3, but we will be in "trigger mode". Any time I get all 6 moves for a turn I will adjudicate.

Rae uses a lot of wear to get a gap on P2.

Turn 19 summary:
Rae uses two skill to get down to 100 (modified 5) then burns two wear each in the chicane 80/60 and another two in the Saint-Beaume 60. Tatum slows to 80 and follows the 80s for free. Polcen hits the chicane at 100 shedding two wear in the 80/60 and taking 2nd position.

Ling approaches the chicane at 100 on the inside. Brandt comes off of Verriere at 140 and pulls even with Ling. Ales finishes the 120s at speed, maintaining his slight wear advantage.

Rae jumps out to a 5 length lead.

Turn 20 summary:
Rae accelerates to 120 (legal as the corner speed increased) for already paid wear and attacks the straightaway. Tatum gets the initiative with a 120 plot and then uses one skill to late brake (modified 7), taking the 80s for one wear. Polcen's 100 plot leaves him only one option, the 60 followed by the 100s for two wear.

Ling and Brandt remain side-by-side as each runs the 80s at speed for free. Ales holds at 120 into the Chicane 80s scrubbing off two wear.

Good job on getting turns in. We may actually make up some time if you can keep them coming.

Rae stretches his lead while the rear tightens up hitting the straightaway.

Turn 21 summary:
Rae maxes at 160, good enough for a 5 car length lead. Polcen and Tatum both get to 160, Polcen using his slight advantage out of the corner to move to the inside.

Ling follows the 80s through Saint-Beaume at 100 dropping one wear. Brandt chooses the outside line at 100 and also sheds one wear in the 80 spaces. Ales closes up on those two with a 100 move around the inside, scrubbing off two wear in the 60 space.

All three of the back markers have cleared the corner at 100, all have 60 acceleration and 180 top speed. Will there be dice next turn?

Mistral Straight brings some interesting moves.

Turn 22 summary:
Rae keeps his foot down at 160. Polcen pushes to 180 with one skill (modified 5) and makes up a car length on the leader. He chooses to finish outside to shake Tatum out of the draft. Tatum maintains 160 and is wise to Polcen's move, requesting to finish behind the black racecar.

Ling asks his engine for 180 and it responds (naked 7). Brandt maxes his acceleration to 160 but loses the draft. Ales also plots 160 and a double slip brings him even with Ling.

Three top speed rolls, all successful

Turn 23 summary:
Rae hits 180 with a naked 7 top speed roll. He starts the racing line. Polcen avoids giving a double slip by staying within his engine's ability at 160. Tatum also does 160 and gets a slip from Polcen to pull even with him.

Ling wows the backstretch bleachers with a giant 200 move (naked 7) to get into P4 cleanly. Ales hits his max of 180 and pulls in behind Ling. Brandt keeps them on their feet with his own 200 move (two skill, modified 3) and is able to grab the wing of Ales' racecar.

The distance from first to sixth shrinks from 12 lengths to 7. No one is out of it yet.

Turn 24 summary:
Rae slows to 120 and runs the Signes line for free. Polcen gets the initiative with a 160 plot then brakes to 140 with one skill (modified 6), taking the racing line for one wear. Tatum holds the pedal down at 160 and takes the long way around the corner shedding one wear.

Ling continues to push his engine at 200 (naked 9) and it barely holds as he starts the racing line. Ales maintains his 180 top speed and, with a double slip from Ling, drops down to the inside and takes P4. Brandt also holds his 180 speed and chooses to stay in Ales' draft for next turn.

The field begins to close up.

Turn 25 summary:
Rae hits Beausset at 100 in the 80s scrubbing off his last wear. Polcen finishes the line for already paid wear. Tatum comes off of the 140s and keeps even with the black car.

Ling makes a move at he runs the Signes line at 160 shedding two wear and choosing to finish behind Tatum. Ales over-decelerates to 120 for one wear and takes the inside lane in the corner for another. Brandt leaves one wear behind on the 120s at 140 and keeps in Ales' tracks.

A successful pass gives Ling a good lead on the championship.

Turn 26 summary:
Rae finishes the 80s at 100 for already paid wear. Tatum gets the jump on Polcen with a 100 plot. He starts the 100s but then drops to the 80s mid-corner scrubbing off one wear. Polcen planned on the 80s all the way around at 80 but Tatum's move forces him to the outside.

Ling hits the 80s at 120 and, even though Tatum attempts a block, is able to force his way into P2 (naked 4). A 3 in the roll costs Tatum one wear, however. Ales slows to 100 and sheds one wear in the 80s. Brandt hits the middle 100s at 120 dropping one wear.

Things get tight as tires and brakes squeal.

Turn 27 summary:
Rae takes the 80s at speed. Ling maintains 120 into the 100s dropping his final wear. Tatum, at 140, wanted the outside lane but instead has to brake (one skill, modified 7) to 120 scrubbing off two wear in the 80s and moving into P2.

Polcen accelerates to 100 and uses half his remaining wear in the 80s. Ales is locked at 100 and chooses to finish on the inside. Brandt maintains 120 for already paid wear in the 100s, then shifts to the 80s for one more wear.

(RM Note: I accidently hit the enter key while setting up Tatum's late brake roll in the dice roller. Since it gave me a valid roll and it was a pass, I chose to accept it and not re-roll it.)

One corner left to decide lap 2.

Turn 28 summary:
Rae approaches Virage du Pont at 120. Tatum finishes the 80s for already paid wear and is one length back with one wear left. Ling, on bald tires, holds at 120.

Polcen keeps at 100 in the 80s, wear already paid. Brandt drops two wear in the 80s at 120 to pull even with Polcen. Ales runs the 80s at speed for free.

A drag race to the finish line as one car leaves the racing surface in Virage du Pont.

Turn 29 summary:
Rae rounds the Virage du Pont at 80 on the outside then jumps back to the inside. Tatum spends the last of his tires in the 80 lane of the virage at 100 and stays outside. The two are even, who might reach for the dice?

Ling hits the 80s at speed and is fairly secure in P3. Polcen gets the jump on Brandt with a 120 plot. He hits the virage 80s dropping his last wear and making a naked chance roll. Boxcars send him careening off the track and, although he emerges unhurt from the car, his chances of the RROC championship are now a burning wreck.

Brandt does 100, bleeding off the excess speed on the outside of Tour, and readies for the final corner. Ales comes off Bendor at 120 and also reaches the approach to the virage beside Brandt.
