Builds are in!

Identical builds include Burnett / Harley, Hoyt / Harrington, and Lind / Francis. Only one car looking to jump out of the gate at 100 SS yet five cars with a 20 SS. Three cars with big 180 engines for the straights and no putt-putters. Bauska under-built his car but, per Redscape House Rules, the build will stand.

Pole Bid Deadline: Friday, June 1st @ 8 a.m. EST (12 noon GMT)

For new drivers, your pole bid can include both wear (1 point) and skill (1/2 point). Ties are broken with a dice roll.

Here are the grid positions.

Not surprisingly, the 100 SS car went high. What is surprising are the 20 SS cars vying for early position. This could make for an interesting start!

1. Harley: 4w + 3s = 5.5 (50)
2. Galullo: 5w + 1s + 5.5 (22)
3. Ingraham: 3w + 2s = 4.0
4. Harrington: 2w + 3s = 3.5
5. Hoyt: 2w + 1s = 2.5 (78)
6. Snouffer: 2w + 1s = 2.5 (25)
7. Burnett: 1w + 3s = 2.5 (6)
8. Bauska: 2w + 0s = 2.0 (79)
9. Scarpino: 1w + 2s = 2.0 (50)
10. Lind: 0w + 3s = 1.5
11. Francis: 0w + 1s = 0.5 (81)
12. Simmerman: 0w + 1s = 0.5 (35)

Five cars push the start with all but one succeeding. A first turn NPR from Scarpino - wake up Federico!

Turn 1 Summary

Galullo grabs the first Senna S line at 100. Harley sets up the line at 60.

Ingraham & Harrington both push the start with 2s (modified 6 each) and stay in formation.

Hoyt and Snouffer both push the start w/ no modifiers (naked 8 & naked 10, respectively). Hoyt barely scrapes by while Snouffer mis-shifts and re-plots to zero. He may use his ACC next turn.

Burnett pushes to 80 with 1s (modified 5) to make it 3-wide near the front. Bauska, at 60, tucks in behind the #32.

Scarpino takes an RM plot at 60 to the outer rail. Lind mis-plots at 40 (his SS is 60).* Ignore the dice roll in the chart - it was not necessary.

Francis, at 60, slides in between the #'s 1 & 11. Simmerman takes the start easy at 20.

* Note: In league play, the RM's are not to ask for corrections or clarifications to plots.

An RM plot and some braking issues as the pack enters the narrow portion of the track.

Turn 2 Summary

Galullo drops a wear at 80 on the Senna 1 line before hitting Senna 2. He will take a sizable lead next turn as he prepares to accelerate onto the straight. Harley clips a tire on the Senna 1 line at 80.

Burnett gests the initiative out of the 3-wide at 120. He late brakes to 100 before grabbing the first Senna line. Ingraham, at 100, moves next, pulling up to Senna on the inside lane. Harrington, at 100 and with no place to put his car, late brakes to 80. He has the line.

Bauska has initiative at 120 but with no room at the inn, late brakes to 100. He has inside position. Hoyt NPR's and his RM plot puts him at 80 with no line access.

Scarpino plots 120 and is quite lucky to find a space to squeeze into.

Lind pushes the engine to 100 (naked 5) and tucks in behind the distracted #24. Francis, also at 100, rides the inner rail.

Snouffer comes out of his mis-shift at 60. Simmerman, at 80, grabs the tailpipe on the red #1 car.

More late braking into the Senna S.

Turn 3 Summary

Ingraham drops a wear in the Senna 1 outer rail at 80 before taking the Senna 2 inside for free. Burnett runs the Senna 1 line at 80 for a wear and is ready to punch it out of Senna 2.

Bauska has initiative out of the 3-wide at 100. He burns 2 tires in the Senna 1 60's then gets hung in Senna 2 on the outer rail. Harrington, at 100, again finds himself with no place to go. A late brake down to 80 ensues for a wear followed by another in the Senna 1 60's. He has the Senna 2 line.

Scarpino, running a safe speed, moves last out of his row at 60 and rounds Senna 1 on the outer rail. With Hoyt's preferred route blocked, he takes his 80 speed through the Senna 1 40 for 2 wear.

Francis rolls into Senna 1 on the inside rail and scrapes off 2 tires. Lind, at a responsible 60, takes the inside lane in front of the Senna S.

Snouffer pulls up to Senna S on the line at 100. Simmerman is odd car out at 120. He must brake down to 100 (1 wear) and grabs the Senna line.

Francis finishes the Senna 1 line at 120 then burns a tire in Senna 2 on the outer rail. He passes the #24 with the slip. Scarpino also plots 120 but, with a crowded track, must settle for the Senna 2 100's and a wear.

Lind runs the outer rail of Senna 1 at 60 for free. He has the Senna 2 line. Snouffer takes the Senna 1 line for free at 60 and is pleased to find the 80 on Senna 2 open.

Simmerman runs the Senna 1 line for free at 60.

Turn 7 Deadline: Monday, June 18th @ 8 a.m. EST (12 noon GMT)

Turn 5 Note: I forgot to roll for Snouffer's ACC test last turn (1s for a modified 7). All is well.

Francis plots 140 then late brakes to 120 w/ 2s (modified 9). His brakes smoke a bit but remain intact as he burns off more speed on the outer rail of Little Orange. Snouffer must also burn off some of his 120 speed in Little Orange and stays astride the #17 machine.

Turn 9 Summary

Galullo pulls up to the Junction on the line at 120. Harley takes the Duck Bill 40 at 60 for a wear.

Burnett illegally plots 100 (cannot increase speed in a corner - there are a few exceptions but this is not one). He continues at 80 and burns a wear in the Duck Bill 60's. Bauska's 80 puts him in front of the corner.

Ingraham runs Small Pine Tree at 80, clipping a tire in the 60's. Harrington follows the same path for a wear, also at 80.

Scarpino scrapes off two tires in the Esse 40 at 80 then dives into the outer lane of Pine Tree. Hoyt, with little room to place his car at 80, burns off some speed and 2 wear on the outer rail of Esse then drops into the Pine Tree 60's for another.

The dice gods say 'no' and leave a spun car on the track!

Turn 11 Summary

Galullo pushes his engine to 160 with 2s (modified 5) as he rolls through the Subida Dos Boxes (Up to the Pits), a long uphill curve. The #96 racer will be in lap 2 next turn. Harley dumps 2 tires on the Junction line at 140.

Francis opts for 120, scrubs 2 tires and takes a big chip to the dice cup (modified 7). He can't hold the corner and spins on the outer rail of the Duck Bill! Hoyt, at 80, burns 2 wear in the Duck Bill 40 before pulling alongside the white #2 car.

Snouffer and Lind take turns at 60 for a wear each through the Duck Bill, deftly avoiding the spun racer. Simmerman continues to save his tires at 60 through Small Pine Tree.
