Eight drivers reach for the dice. Incorpora uses his big 3-skill chip while all the others use two skill (Rando and Mossman being the only two that actually needed them).

Turn 1 summary:
The first six drivers, Hancock, Incorpora, Ling, Tatum, Mossman and Welage all test start speed to 80 and keep the pack relatively intact.

Bauska uses his big 100 start speed to make the back row of the lead pack three wide. Blizzard and Linneberg use their 60 starts to head the second pack on the inside. Rando pushes to 40 to keep in touch with the cars ahead of him. Kennington's 60 start forces him outside of Rando. Miller pushes to 40 and is able to keep on Rando's wing.

(Note: The points chart will update with each turn. As always, ties during race 2 are arbitrarily placed since the final tie-break is position in race 3.)

Next deadline: turn 2 due Friday, October 13 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

This was quite a challenging turn for your RM. Thanks to all drivers that sent "if/then's" for the first corner.

Turn 2 summary:
Hancock leads the pack through Verriere at 140 on the racing line. Incorpora does 120 on the line for free but causes a lot of scrambling behind him. Ling flies through the 100s at 140 shedding two wear and getting a slip from Hancock to pick up P2. Tatum plots 140 but spends one wear to late brake and stay on the racing line (no slip since Incorpora plotted 120).

Mossman also plots 140 and makes a one skill roll (modified 2) to late brake and keep on the line behind Tatum. With things getting crazy in front of him, Welage at 140 takes the 100 and 120s getting a slip from Tatum (since Tatum began the turn at 140) and dropping two wear. Bauska does exactly the same thing except with no dancing partner he does not get a slip. Blizzard picks up the start of the racing line at 120.

Linneberg does 120 and with a slip from Blizzard he slides inside for the position. Rando spends two skill to boost his acceleration (modified 4) and hits 100 with a slip but loses touch with the cars in front of him. Kennington at 120 stays beside Rando. Miller uses his big acceleration to get to Rando's wing on the inside.

Things bunch up as the pack hits the first slow section.

Turn 3 summary:
Ling grabs P1 by plotting 140 then late braking for one wear. He goes into the Chicane 80s at 120 for another two wear. Hancock follows into the 80s at 100 dropping one wear. Incorpora was also looking for the 80s but is forced to the outside at 100. Tatum has the inside advantage at 120, keeping to the inside at the entrance to the Chicane.

Welage does 120 to keep next to Tatum. Mossman's 140 move off of Verriere gives him the jump and he makes it three wide. Bauska does 120 and looks for a slip but a wall of cars prevents him from getting it. Linneberg sheds one wear in the Verriere 100s at 120 to maintain P8.

Blizzard takes the racing line at 120 for free to stay side-by-side with Linneberg. Rando covers the corner racing line at 140 for free and now sits on the wing of the dark blue racecar. Miller also runs the line at 140 and with a slip from Kennington he pulls even with Rando.

Next deadline: turn 4 due Wednesday, October 18 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC.

The two leaders nose to tail, then then next 9 are two wide in a long freight train.

Turn 4 summary:
Ling continues the 80s in the Chicane then keeps inside through St. Beaume, clearing the corner but dropping two wear to do so. Hancock follows in Ling's tire tracks also shedding two wear. Incorpora drops one wear in the Chicane 80s and holds the inside at the next corner. Welage comes out of the three wide and nicks one wear at 100 through the 80s.

Tatum uses the inside advantage to move next at 80 and covers the Chicane for free choosing to finish behind Welage. Mossman also plots 80 and tries to save some wear but the only open lane is the 60 so he lightens his tires by one wear but finishes inside of Tatum to pick up P5. Bauska takes the Chicane at 80 for free and sits on Mossman's wing. Linneberg gets the initiative from the three wide group at 100 and scrubs off one wear in the 80s.

Blizzard does 100 but chooses to stay on the outside of the corner for free. Kennington also plots 100 at a cost of one wear to exceed his deceleration, then hits the only path available to him; the 80 followed by the 60 for two more wear but a jump of three positions to P7. Rando starts at 120 then loses one wear to late brake, losing another wear in the Chicane 80, picking up a spot. Miller avoids trouble by doing a conservative 80, finishing in the middle lane to keep his options open.

No dented sheet metal as two-thirds of the field clears St. Beaume for the first time.

Turn 5 summary:
Ling puts it to the field jumping out to 160. Hancock maintains 100 through the 80 for already paid wear and keeps to the inside. Incorpora scrapes off two wear in the St. B. 60 at 100 to keep behind Hancock. Welage covers the 80s (switching lanes in the middle of the corner) knocking off two wear and finishing side by side with Incorpora.

Mossman gets the next move at 120 and follows the same path as Welage, choosing to finish behind him. Tatum plots 100 and does the 80s switch as well but he gets a slip from Welage and finishes inside of Mossman to pick up the spot. Bauska gets the initiative at 120 and does the same 80s shuffle, shedding two wear. Kennington slows to 80 and completes St. B. on the inside surrendering one wear.

Linneberg finishes the Chicane at 80, wear already paid, and hits St. B. leaving one wear in the 60 space. Rando shifts to the Chicane 60 at 100 for an additional wear (one paid last turn) and wants to put 5 pounds of stuff in a 4 pound bag but it's just not there. He settles for the St. B. 80s, dropping one more wear. Blizzard slows to 60 to finish the Chicane for free and sets up on the inside. Miller keeps at 80 through the Chicane for free and grabs Blizzard's wing.

Next deadline: turn 6 due Monday, October 23 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

RM note: C1 lost two drivers so they will only be relegating two to C2. In like manner, we will relegate only two drivers to C3. The points chart has been updated to show red background on only the last two positions.

Mossman moves from P5 to P2 in one move.

Turn 6 summary:
Ling gets up to 180 but his lead doesn't increase. Hancock maxes his acceleration to 160 and keeps inside. Welage gets the initiative at 180 and catches the silver machine. Incorpora is also limited by his acceleration but with a slip from Hancock is able to keep up and make it three wide.

Mossman puts his foot to the floor and hits 180. With the double slip from Welage he has enough momentum to break through the wall of cars in front of him (naked pass roll 8) and into second place. Tatum does 160 on the inside and a slip from Incorpora allows him to keep pace with the three wide in front of him. Bauska is able to reach 180 and looks for the slip but since Tatum only did 160 he has to settle in behind. Kennington can only get to 140 but a double slip from Bauska keeps him in touch, although he stays outside, losing the draft for next turn. (Which he probably won't need anyway with the big engine primed to roar)

Rando is able to speed up to 120 with wear already paid and finish the St. B. 100s, dropping to the inside. Linneberg holds 80mph around the inside of the corner and sits on Rando's wing. Blizzard drops one wear in St. B. at 80 keeping the line intact. Miller also sheds one wear following the 80s out then in at 100 keeping behind Blizzard.

Plenty of high speeds and slips as expected.

Turn 7 summary:
Ling keeps the pedal down at 180 but loses a length on his lead. Mossman rolls to get his machine up to 200 (naked 8). Hancock hits 180 and takes a double slip from Mossman to pull even with him. Welage holds 180 on the inside.

Incorpora keeps beside Welage at 180. Tatum gets the double slip from Hancock allowing him to pass Welage and Incorpora. He chooses to remain outside. Bauska keeps at 180 and a double slip to stay on Tatum's wing. Kennington lets his big power plant loose at 200, also remaining outside.

Rando maxes his acceleration to 160 and stays inside. Linneberg uses one skill to push his acceleration (modified 5) and gets a slip from Rando to finish side by side with him. Blizzard gets all he can from his engine at 140 and gets a slip from Linneberg. Miller uses his big acceleration to get to 180 quickly and finishes next to Blizzard.

1st through 8th separated by 4 car lengths as the pack enters Signes. And a lot of noise still coming from Mistral Straight.

Turn 8 summary:
Ling slows to 140 into the corner on the racing line shedding one wear. Mossman closes the gap some on the leader at 160 on the line. Hancock slows to 140 and sets up next on the racing line. Tatum does 160 and shoots inside of Hancock to move up a spot.

All three of the three-wide cars plot 180. Welage on the inside gets the jump and finishes outside of Hancock creating another three-wide wall. Incorpora moves next but with the way blocked is forced to spend one wear to brake, finishing on the racing line. Bauska must also brake (although with the double slip he had enough to pass, but it was not requested). He finishes inside of Incorpora. Kennington keeps the hammer down at 200 and grabs the inside lane left vacant by Bauska, picking up P6.

Rando gets to 180 and hugs the inside. Linneberg also at 180 keeps pace with Rando. Miller uses one skill to coax 220mph out of his engine (modified 5) and he catches the two in front of him. Blizzard goes for 200 with one skill (modified 4) and is able to keep up with the rest of the chase pack.

Ling's lead evaporates. The chase pack loses a car.

Turn 9 summary:
Ling approaches Beausset on the inside. Mossman sheds two wear in Signes at 160 and gets wheel-to-wheel with the leader. Hancock drops two wear on the racing line at 160 to break out of the chase pack and make it a three car race for the lead. Welage scrubs off one wear on the racing line at 140 and drops to the inside.

Tatum takes the 120s at speed and gets a slip. He chooses to finish on the racing line. Kennington leaves two wear in the 120s at 160 and fills in the gap in another three-wide wall. Bauska at 140 with a slip takes the 140s and dives in behind Welage. Incorpora covers the racing line at 120. With no room for the slip he settles on Tatum's wing.

Miller backs off to 200 (I don't think I've ever said that before!) and approaches Signes on the racing line. Rando at 180 follows Kal's orange machine on the line. Linneberg plots 140 and starts the line two car lengths behind Rando. Blizzard finishes Mistral Straight at 180 and sticks to the inside for P10.

A new leader. A lot of rubber lost this turn.

Turn 10 summary:
Mossman gets the initiative at 100mph, taking the first middle 100s then shifts to the 80s for one wear. Ling at 80 wanted to stay on the inside but with Mossman now blocking the corner exit he's forced outside after the first two 80 spaces. Hancock plots 100 and drives through the middle 100s ending on the tail of the green car. Kennington plots 120 to come out of the three wide first. He makes a late brake roll (modified 5) to 100 and dives into the 80s scrubbing off one wear.

Tatum moves next also at 120 shedding one wear in the middle 100s and grabs Hancock's tailpipe. Welage does 100 into the middle 100s and makes that line 4 deep. Bauska gets to Welage's wing at 100 in the middle 100s. Incorpora also does 100 but he sticks his car down on the inside for one wear and one position.

Miller at 140 completes the Signes line dropping one wear and floating back to the inside. Blizzard knocks off one wear at 140 through the 120s, choosing to finish in the middle lane. Rando covers the racing line at 140 losing one wear but gaining a spot thanks to a slip from Blizzard. Linneberg adds to the tire smoke by shooting the racing line at 140 for one wear.

Mossman stretches his lead as the chase pack goes side-by-side five deep.

Turn 11 summary:
Mossman punches into Bendor at 120 scrubbing off two more wear. Ling holds at 80 and finishes inside at the entrance to Bendor. Hancock keeps a steady 100 to pull even with Ling. Kennington plots 120 to get the jump on Tatum and shifts to the 100s for already paid wear. However, with the track blocked he's forced to late brake to 100 (naked 10) and his brakes let out an audible "ouch."

Tatum finishes the 100s at speed and keeps even with the dark blue race car. Welage follows Tatum around the corner and keeps to the inside. Incorpora keeps the speed at 100 wanting to follow the 80s but there isn't enough room so he shifts to the 100s to finish the corner on Welage's outside. Bauska gives up a position as he also holds 100 through the 100s.

Miller uses the inside advantage to move around the Beausset 100s at speed. Rando plots 100 and dives to the inside lane around the corner dropping one wear but grabbing P8. Blizzard is hoping for a slip but everyone is slowing for the corner. He does the same, shedding one wear in the 80s at 100 and moving up one position. Linneberg takes an RM plot at 100 entering the outer 100s for free.

Bendor keeps the pack intact but with a couple of position changes.

Turn 12 summary:

Mossman finishes the corner at 120, wear already paid, and stretches his lead. Ling at 100 sheds one wear in Bendor taking the 100s then shifting to the 80s. Hancock reverses Ling's move, starting in the 80s and moving outside at 100, dropping one wear. Kennington holds P4 at 120 into the 100s scrubbing off one wear.

Tatum follows Kennington around the 100s at speed. Welage leaves one wear point in the Bendor 80s at 100 finishing inside of Tatum, taking the spot. Incorpora conserves his tires at 100 through the 100s. Bauska comes off Beausset first at 100, hitting the 80s to spend one wear and grab P7.

Rando plots 80 and sticks to the inside of Bendor for free. Blizzard keeps a steady 100 to finish Beausset for already paid wear and hits the Bendor 100s outside of Rando. Miller continues his 100 move through the Beausset 100s and rides inside. Linneberg also finishes the 100s at speed.
