And we're off! Interesting first turn. No three wides and no position changes.
Just a reminder that the tie break logic is now valid on the chart so it shows actual positions of any tied drivers.

Next deadline: turn 2 due Monday, February 6 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 1 summary:
Brad is first to test his start speed and passes (mod 3) shedding a wear in S1. Jeff uses his 100 stat speed to stay right behind Brad. Tim, also at 100, forms a line behind Jeff. William makes that line 4 deep by passing his start speed test (mod 5) and going 80.

Simone at 100 creates our first two-wide as he pulls alongside William. Will stays with his 60 start speed and loses William's draft. Ken is the third to test his start speed (mod 5) and pulls even with the black car. Grant does 60 and chooses the middle lane putting him on Ken's tailpipe.

Cody starts at 60 and stays inside. Chris, also at 60, keeps pace with Cody. Kal stays with his 20 start speed.

Hey! Didn't anyone notice there were no flags? Got 'em now.

Brad stretches his early lead.

Next deadline: turn 3 due Wednesday, February 8 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 2 summary:
Brad shoots through S2 at 140 leaving a bit of rubber. Jeff makes the safe move covering both S turns at 100. Tim is NPR so he does 120 around the outside of S1 and moves outside into S2. William loses a wear in S1 at 120 and settles inside of S2.

Simone makes the same move as William and also sheds a wear, finishing between William and Tim. Will drops a wear in the S1 middle lane and ducks inside. Ken stays right on Will's wing with a 120 move around the outside of S1. Grant plots 120 and trades one wear point for 7th position in the S1 middle.

Cody slides down the inside lane at 120 and sets up at the entrance to the Esses. Chris plots 100 and with a slip from Grant stays with Cody. Kal tromps the gas and gets that big engine up to 100 in a hurry.

Plenty of rubber rubbed off this turn.

Next deadline: turn 4 due Friday, February 10 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 3 summary:
Brad continues his torrid pace, flying around the Tunnel at 160 and dropping two wear. Jeff also sheds two wear in the same corner at 140 to keep Brad in sight. William covers the corner in Jeff tire tracks surrendering two wear as well. Simone plot 140 as did the two in front of him but he opts for the outside of the corner, shedding one wear.

Tim comes out of S2 at 120 and dives inside of Simone in the Tunnel clipping one wear off his tires and picking up 4th place. Will takes S2 at a safe 120 and keeps to the inside. Grant gets the initiative on Ken by coming out of S1 at 140, scrubbing off one wear in S2, and pulling up outside of Will. Ken shoots S2 at a safe 120 looking for a slip but with nowhere to go settles in behind Will.

Cody leaves a little rubber in S1 at 120 and finishes inside. Chris takes both Esses at 120 safely, grabbing the wing of the green machine. Kal completes S1 in the 120s at speed.

Brad stretches his lead while two distinct packs form behind him.

Next deadline: turn 5 due Monday, February 13 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 4 summary:
Brad lets his big engine roar down the straightaway at 180. Jeff hits his top of 160 and hangs inside. William does 160 and takes a slip off Jeff to pull even with him. Tim exits the Tunnel and hits 180 to catch Jeff.

Simone's move is the same as Tim's and he pulls beside the red machine to form the first pack. Grant gets the initiative over Will by doing 140 around the outside of the Tunnel for one wear. Will follows around the outside of the corner but at a safe 120. Ken sheds a wear around the inside of the corner at 120 and a slip allows him to catch Grant.

Cody scrubs off two wear on the inside of the corner at 140 and forms up the second pack on the outside of Will's race car. Chris gets a slip off Cody and covers the Tunnel inside at 100 for free. Kal finishes the Esses at a safe 120 and ducks to the inside.

A big move by Cody this turn.

Next deadline: turn 6 due Wednesday, February 15 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 5 summary:
Brad completes the Carousel in one move dropping one wear in the outside lane at 140. Jeff sheds two wear in the outside lane at 160 and picks up a space on the leader. (Which he likely will lose back next turn) William does 140 but takes the inside lane scrubbing off two wear. Simone gets the jump on Tim with a 140 move into the outside lane leaving one wear on the asphalt.

Tim makes a cautious 120 move holding just short of the corner. Ken opens up the throttle and closes up 3 spaces on Tim at 180. Grant tops out at 160 but stays on the wing of Ken's racecar. Will also reaches 180 and is able to pull alongside Grant.

The move of the race so far is Cody, plotting 180 and getting a 2 space slip from Ken, he forces a pass on Will (naked 8) and is able to duck in front of Ken picking up 3 spots. Chris puts half of the straightaway behind him at 140. Kal rounds the Tunnel at 120 at prepares to make a lot of noise.

Wow, Brad covered sector 1 over 20mph faster then the next fastest. Can he keep it up though?

A naked pass roll with skill in the bank?!

You've got some kahunas there, Cody. Nice move and I applaud you for re-affirming your reputation as an unpredictable driver. That can have advantages...

Lots of noise at the front and even more noise in the back.

Next deadline: turn 7 due Friday, February 17 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 6 summary:
Brad comes off the corner and hits 180 approaching the kink. Jeff finishes the carousel at 160 and keeps outside to break the draft. Unfortunately for him William anticipates that move and request to finish behind him after finishing the corner at 140. Simone covers the rest of the corner at 140 and he adds to the conga line by also requesting a slip position.

Tim saves precious rubber by taking the corner at a safe 120 on the outside. Cody wanted the outside lane at 140 but with Tim on the end is forced inside scrubbing off two wear but gaining 5th spot. Ken plots 140 and gets a slip off of Cody. He also drops two wear on the inside of the corner and finishes alongside Cody, also moving up a spot. Will leaves one wear point in the 120s at 140.

Grant plots 120 and, with a slip from Ken, is able to take the inside lane losing only one wear but gaining one position. Chris hits the approach to the Carousel at 140. And that roar you hear from the back is Kal hitting 200mph (1 skill, modified 4) gaining a full 3 spaces on Chris.

No positions changed but the mid pack tightened up a bit.

Next deadline: turn 8 due Monday, February 20 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 7 summary:
Brad slows to 120 for the kink. Jeff closes two spaces on the leader by doing 160 down the straightaway. William also plots 160 and takes a slip off Jeff to pull beside him. Simone, likewise, gets a slip off William with a 160 plot and finishes on Jeff's wing.

Cody and Ken drag race towards the kink at 180mph. Tim comes off the corner at 180 and looking for a slip but the track is blocked so he settles in behind Cody. Grant finishes the inside of the Carousel at 120 and stays inside.

Will completes the corner on the outside and is able to keep pace with Grant. Chris takes the safe way around the inside of the Carousel at 100. Kal sheds one wear in the 120s at 140.

The field closes up quite a bit up front.

Next deadline: turn 9 due Wednesday, February 22 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 8 summary:
Brad slows to 80 and gathers in the Big Bend racing line. Jeff takes the Kink at 120 and moves into the Big Bend 80s shedding two wear. William slows to 100 in order to get the racing line. Simone plots 120 then late brakes with 1 skill (modified 1) to be able to also grab the racing line behind William.

Cody outguns Ken to move next, dropping one wear in the Kink at 140 and finishing inside Simone. Ken takes the safe speed through the Kink and finishes inside, behind Cody. Tim plots 120 so the Kink does not cost him anything. He gets a slip off of Cody to pull even with Ken.

Grant and Will drag race up to the Kink, both doing 160. Chris comes off of the Carousel at 160 and stays inside. Kal finishes the 120s and also keeps to the inside.

The top 4 cars clear The 90 and two more are right behind them.

Next deadline: turn 11 due Monday, February 27 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 10 summary:
Brad sheds more precious rubber rounding The 90 at 100 on the line. Jeff follows suit and stays on Brad's wing. Simone plots 140 with a late brake (1s: modified 5). He must spend one wear in Little Bend since you must move one space before late braking. He then drops two more wear in The 90 80s, for a total of three wear. William plots 120 and also late brakes (0s: 6) knocking off one wear on the racing line.

Cody wanted the racing line at 120 but with William there opts for the outside lane, surrendering one wear. Ken flies through Little Bend at 140 leaving a bit of rubber and sets up on The 90 racing line. Grant keeps a safe 120 through the same corner, finishing on the inside. We have a new leader!

Next deadline: turn 12 due Wednesday, March 1 at 6pm EST/11pm UTC

Turn 11 summary:
Brad approaches S1 at a safe 120 and chooses the middle lane. Jeff runs the straight at 140 and tucks inside of Brad to take the lead. Cody finishes the 100s and moves inside to complete lap 1. Ken takes The 90 racing line at a safe 80 and grabs the green machine's tailpipe. Grant makes up a spot on Ken by shedding one wear on The 90 line. Tim is MIA this turn and slides outside into the 100s at speed.

Will saves some rubber on The 90 racing line at 80. Chris comes off of Big Bend at 120, keeps safe through Little Bend and keeps to the outside. Kal slows to 80 to take the Big Bend line at no cost.
