Turn 21

Turn 22 May be delayed for a week as I am traveling to Denver to catch up with my wife and children who have been vacationing in the American Southwest. I will be back and able to adjudicate 1MAY17.

If Mike can find an RM I am fine with standing by, otherwise I will see you in a week!

Turn 21
Tim rolls through S1 at 120 spending 1W, Fabio takes position to enter S1 flying up at 140, and Doug does the same.

Marshall takes initiative at 120 and corners the 80 lane for a 2W clip, John spends 1W and takes the R/L sitting in the middle lane. Giovanni makes a move at 120 (2W) and a slip to get 3-wide on the straightaway. Chris takes the R/L at 100 (1W) and preps for a slip next turn.

Mike keeps pressing to make contact again at 120 spending 2W and sitting at the middle lane at the end of the 90. Dave takes it a little easier at 100 on the R/L and getting a slip for the cost of 1W.

Jim spends 1W along the R/L and has clean air.

Series championship update: If Doug wins the race, he's in line for the crown but... if Fabio then takes 2nd, he'll nudge Doug out of the winner's circle by a single point. This will be a close one...

Turn 24 Summary

Tim runs down the straight at 160. Doug, also at 160, is able to pull even with the green car with the bonus. Fabio keeps up with the leaders at 160 and the slip. He opts to tail the blue car.

Marshall drops the hammer to 180, refusing to let this race go uncontested.

Giovanni burns 2 tires in the Tunnel 120's at 160. John saves his last wear at 120 on the outer rail. Chris pulls even with the purple car at 120 outside and the bonus.

Mike gets initiative at 140, dropping 2 tires on the inside rail. Turyko clips a tire at 120 in the 100 before tucking in behind the grey car. Dave stays on Turyko's tailpipe at 100 and the slip.

Jim scrapes off 3 wear at 140 (100 in S1 and 120 in S2) as he traverses the Ess curves.

Turn 25 Hard Deadline: Monday, May 1st @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon GMT)
If all plots are in by 12 noon EDT tomorrow, we can get one more turn in this week.

The Battle Royale begins with Doug having a sizable wear advantage. None the less, series advantage goes to Fabio by one point! Is this a done deal or can one of the back-markers make a move?

Turn 25 Summary

Doug gets the initiative at 160 and burns off 2 more wear out of his bigly stock in the Carousel 120's. Tim, at 140, drops a wear in the 120's and grabs the tailpipe on the blue car.

Fabio runs the Carousel on the inner rail at 140 for 2 wear and with the bonus pulls into 2nd place.

Marshall clips 2 tires at 140 in the Carousel 100's. Giovanni drops the hammer and races down the straight at 180, using 1sp on the nitro test (modified 4).

John also puts his engine to the test at 180 (naked 6), giving fans the thrill of high-speed racing down the backstretch. Chris, at 160, slides in behind the purple rocket.

Mike, at 160 and the double bonus, passes the neon car to pull even with the purple machine. Turyko slams his foot onto the gas pedal to 180 and tucks in behind the bright green car.

Dave hits the accelerator and at 160 plus the double slip pulls even with the black car.

Jim moseys through the Tunnel at 120 on the outer rail for free.

Drivers are getting bottled up at the Kink with only 3 corners remaining to the finish.

Turn 27 Summary

Doug clips a tire at 140 in the Kink. Fabio also burns a tire in the Kink at 140 and the bonus, providing the fans some side-by-side racing into Big Bend! Tim keeps up with the leaders at 140 and the slip.

Marshall shows off his big engine at 180. Giovanni tests his machine with 1s to hit 180 (modified 8). With the coveted double bonus, he flies by the red car and sits in fourth.

Mike races out of the Carousel at 180.

John, Chris, Turyko, and Dave continue at 140 each to finish out the Carousel. They form a rolling block of cars on the straight.

Jim, feeling feisty, barrels into the Carousel 120's at 180 with 2 wear and 2s on a chance roll (modified 2). He manages to keep the speeding car on the pavement.

Doug takes over the series points lead as Tim gains a position on Fabio. Can Fabio leverage his 1 wear advantage over Tim to regain the all-important 2nd place?

Turn 28 Summary

Doug runs the Big Bend line at 120 for 2 wear. With the line blocked, Fabio tosses off 2 tires in the Big Bend 80's.

Tim burns off his last wear and goes the to the chance table with his big chip at 120 on the BB line (modified 1). He keeps control of the wheel and jumps back into 2nd place. Giovanni, also at 120, parks his racer behind Fabio in the 80's for 2 wear.

Marshall grabs the Big Bend line after testing his brakes with his last chip to get down to 120 (modified 11). The wear loss hurts more than the brake damage - I don't see much braking left for the red car.

Mike takes the Kink for free at 120.

John plots 160 then brakes down to 140 on the tables (naked 5). Chris, also at 160, runs into the Kink for 2 wear.

Turyko, at 140 and the bonus, pulls even with the purple car. Dave tucks in behind John at 140.

Jim completes the Carousel at his current speed of 180.

Turn 29 Deadline: Friday, May 5th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon GMT)
If all plots are in tomorrow, expect an early adjudication again.

Doug is not pulling any punches as he slow plays it, not only denying Fabio a slip but also forcing a late brake. Next turn will be VERY interesting! Both Chris and John are playing cat and mouse in the rear.

Turn 29 Summary

Doug drops to 100 and hugs the rail after Little Bend.

Tim pulls up next to the blue car at 120. Fabio, also at 120, has no place to park and brakes down to 100 with one of his big chips (automatic pass).

Giovanni finishes Big Bend at 120 and tucks in next to the brown car. Marshall clips 2 tires on the Big Bend line.

Mike rolls through Big Bend on the groove at 120 for 2 wear.

Chris plots 120 then drops to 100 via the tables (naked 8). He burns a tire on the Big Bend line.

John plots 120 and also hits the brakes to 100 (naked 4). He grabs the line. Turyko, at 120, snakes his car through the traffic and scrapes off 2 wear in the Big Bend 80's.

Dave plots 140 but sees his grand plan is in big trouble. He brakes to 120 with 1s (modified 3) before the Kink then slides to the inside of the purple car.

Jim drops to 120 as enters the Kink for free.

Turn 30 Deadline: Monday, May 8th @ 8 a.m. EDT (12 noon GMT)
I will adjudicate tomorrow if all plots are in.

Turn 30 Summary

Doug runs the groove in The 90 for 2 wear and nudges his nose across the finish line. Tim plots 100 then drops to 80 with his last 2 chips (mofified 3). He takes the line for free.

Fabio plots 120 with a brake down to 100, applying 2s (modified 8). He burns off his last wear in the 80's. Giovanni, at 120, finds all his preferred routes blocked. He burns his last tire in The 90 on the outer rail and pulls even with the green car via the slip.

Dave clips 2 tires in the Big Bend 80's at 120 and sits on the tailpipe of the black car. John runs the Big Bend groove for free at 80.

Jim closes in by dropping 2 wear on the Big Bend line.

Half the field is in. One more turn for the back markers.

Turn 31 Summary
Giovanni gets the initiative at 160 then brakes down to 140 with his big chip to grab 2nd place. Tim rolls the dice on the Acc table (naked 9) to get his machine up to 140. He takes the 3rd and final spot on the podium.

Marshall pushes his engine to 160 (naked 6) and slides in next to the green car for 4th place. Fabio uses his big chip to plot 160 but, with no place to go, has to brake back down to 140 (naked 6) for 6th place.

Mike burns off his last tire at 100 on The 90 line and pushes across the finish line in 6th. Chris plots 100 then late brakes down to 80 (naked 9) to take the groove for free.
