This is an exhibition race for Speed Circuit / CFR. For newer drivers, I am approaching this as a teaching game so if anyone would like some help or advice, I am available.

Current Field
Don T (black Renault)
Thomas H (red Ferrari)
Tim M (lt. blue Toleman)
Jack B (blue Brabham)
Doug S (teal Ligier)
Sean H (green Williams)
Will K (orange Spirit)
John W (purple Toleman)

RM: SLOTerp
Laps: Two
Deadlines: M/W/F

Track: Detroit GP, attached below. This track was published in the Vol.4, No.5, All-star Replay magazine (1983). You'll also find a review of that actual Grand Prix on page 20. All-star Replay link

Doug Schulz had modified the S/F line area so that we can stagger the start per CFR rules. The three-wide in this section is also a new feature.

Because I did some research that I shared via email:

The 1983 Detroit Grand Prix was won by a normally aspirated car in an era when most winning cars sported turbo chargers. In fact it was the last victory by a normally aspirated car before 1988 when turbos were outlawed.

Because, really, where on this track do you get to take full advantage of any kind of horsepower?

Thank you for sharing (and I mean that), but...

it turns out this track was the inaugural Detroit GP of 1982. The 1983 configuration took out the nasty hairpin which had taken out a few cars the year before.

Still, I'm really enjoying learning about F1 history. This is not something I've ever followed until I started playing this game a few years ago.
