When and where will Mike use that final wear point to get the most out of it? Stay tuned.

Next deadline: turn 43 due Friday, September 9 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 42 summary:
Giovanni holds 60 and enters the 60 in the next to last corner. Mike does 60 on the racing line and stays right with him. Turyko also does 60 on the line to hold station on Mike.

Doug uses two skill to get down to 60 (modified 5) and takes the racing line. Rando sheds two wear going around the outside of the corner at 100. Tim drops to 60 and takes the racing line for free.

As long as Giovanni keeps his wheels on the pavement he will be the winner!

Next deadline: turn 44 due Monday, September 12 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 43 summary:
Giovanni continues at 60 and clears the corner. Mike lets it all hang out at 100 using his last wear and a naked chance roll (9) in the 60 space and spins! (Note: had he not spun he intended to try a forced pass for the lead) Turyko plotted 60 but with the spin he hits the brakes (naked 6) to avoid having to make a chance roll of his own.

Doug gets the jump on Rando plotting 80 but then late braking for his last skill (mod 7). He takes the racing line for free. Rando also plotted 80 but with Doug still on the line is forced around the outside of the corner, using one wear. Tim follows on the racing line at 60 safely, both for speed and the fact that he had nowhere else to go.

The last five all in a bunch.

Next deadline: turn 45 due Wednesday, September 14 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 44 summary:
Giovanni negotiates the final corner and heads for home. Mike recovers from his spin and holds on to 2nd. Turyko stays safe at 60 through the 60s.

Doug get the initiative and drops his last two wear at 100 through the 60s passing Turyko. But with Mike sitting on the last 60 he's forced outside to the 80s. Rando scrapes off one wear at 80 through the 60s to pull along side Turyko. Tim keeps pace dropping one wear in the 60s at 80.

Giovanni seals his win but still positions to be decided.

Next deadline: turn 46 due Friday, September 16 at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC

Turn 45 summary:
Giovanni crosses the line to win the lap and the competition, congratulations! Mike rounds the final corner at a safe 100 and as long as no critters decide to cross the track in front of him he'll get second. Doug goes for broke in the final corner with a naked chance roll (8) and spins! It's a safe bet he'll lose at least one position as it sets up a real drag race to the line.

Rando gets the initiative on Turyko and runs the 80s at 100 for already paid wear, finishing on the outside. Turyko holds 60 and finishes inside. Tim goes 80 through the 60s for already paid wear and sets up outside Turyko and on Rando's wing.

What a finish! Tim sneaks in to third for the lap.

Turn 46 summary:
Mike maxes across the line for second place. Doug recovers from his spin at 60 and stays inside. Rando drops his last wear at 140 around the outside of the corner and noses across the line.

Tim test his acceleration (7) to reach 140 and carries that speed around the inside of the corner for one wear and a two skill chance roll (modified 5) and he passes Rando at the line to finish third for the lap. Turyko takes the outside of the corner at a safe 120 and ends up beside Doug.

Since only Doug and Turyko remain and Turyko can do 160 with Doug doing 140 at best, that ends the race.

I'd like to congratulate Giovanni on his win and thank all the drivers who participated. If you haven't commented yet I encourage you to go to the forum and leave your thoughts. Or you can email them to me and I will post them. There have already been some good suggestions, at least a couple of which I can guarantee you will see in next year's RROC II.
