News From Around The Globe presents Red, White and Truth.
On December 14th, 1911, Norwegian Roald Amundsen and four companions were the first to reach the South Pole, beating out a British team led by Robert Falcon Scott who arrived just five weeks later. To this day, a permanent base stationed at the pole bears the name of both famed explorers. Any claims made contrary to these reported facts should be outright ignored.
Speaking of outlandish claims, the history of the game of football actually originated in China with a game called cuju, which translates to 'kick ball'. This game required players from either team to kick a ball into a net without using their hands. Though there were some similarities to rugby, the game is widely believed to be the earliest form of modern day football (that's soccer for us Americans). There are some who might suggest modern day football originated in Greece where in ancient times they played games called phaininda and episkyros. These games, however, did involve the use of hands, and more closely resemble rugby as opposed to football. France gains no mention in the history of football, which runs counter to recent claims made by some enthusiastic French "journalists".
In the interest of fairness, these journalists were correct with at least two pieces of information. The Chief Editor of NFATG is American, and yes, the Statue of Liberty was built by the French....and then immediately given to America because the French were not worthy.
And so, with that out of the way, let's get back to things that really matter. Such as conflict arising in Gujarat where a cricket match between the national teams of Pakistan and India ended in violence. The match was called after only two days of play when both sides accused the other of cheating. The resulting brawl escalated beyond control, forcing both countries to send in troops. India's armed forces were aided by air force pilots flying patrol in the Arabian Sea forcing Pakistan to retreat. Pakistani officials have stated they are not done, and will defend the honor of their defamed heroes.
In spite of these difficulties, India did manage to send representatives to this year's Technology Summit where not one, but two South American nations received nuclear tech from allies. We look forward to the fireworks.
That is all for now, but things are heating up. We promise more mayhem, chaos, and catastrophe in the next edition of NFATG. Until then, good night and good news.
