The way this race has gone I should be happy with 9th, but 8th would be better.

Chris comes out on top...in the race to 0 wear. Can he hang on to his lead through the rest of Lap 3? A costly NPR for Turyko as he gets stranded in the Solana 80s.

Next Deadline: Turn 30 plots due Wednesday at 6pm EDT/10pm UTC (hard deadline). Note this is later since I'm in the "Great White North" for the next few days.

Turn 29 Results
Chris goes 120 into the del Lago 100s for his last wear. Fabio goes 140 and takes the racing line. John tests acceleration in an attempt to go 160 (naked 3), he succeeds and grab's Fabio's spoiler.

Giovanni goes 120 on the Solana racing line for 2 wear. Mike and Rando each go 100: Mike through the inside 60s for 2w; Rando first late brakes to 80 for a wear then sticks to Mike's tail through the 60s for a second wear. NPR for Turyko, he takes the RM plot at 100 through the 80s for a wear.

Dave and Tim barrel towards Solana at 140, swapping places as Dave heads for the Racing Line. Jim gets the jump on Marshall by going 180 to Marshall's 160, he opts for the outside in an attempt to deny a slip opportunity to Marshall, who specified the inside lane. Doug accelerates to 160 for the already-paid wear.

Cheers from Waterloo, Ontario!

Thanks for your patience, all. Greetings from Toronto-Pearson Airport! Reliable WiFi available at last! Oh, and we're running a race too. Fabio and John both brake with dice and John pays extra for it.

Next Deadline: Turn 31 plots due Friday, September 16 at 8pm EDT/12am UTC Sat (Soft Deadline). Hard deadline will be Monday, September 19 at 8am EDT/Noon UTC.

Turn 30 Results
Chris slows to 80 on the second RL for the already-paid wear. Fabio and John both plot 80 and use a brakes test to get there. Fabio rolls a naked 4 then drops a wear on the racing lines. John rolls a naked 10 and suffers brake damage; he pays a wear penalty and suffers -20 to the DEC stat. He then drops his last wear on the first RL and the 60s.

Giovanni roars down the straight at 160. Mike follows him at a slower 140. Rando goes 100 with a slip on Mike. Turyko continues at 100 and ends inside. Tim goes 100 and drops 2 wear in the inside lane. Dave takes it easy and goes 80 on the racing line for free.

Jim goes 140 and heads inside before the corner. Marshall goes 160 and pulls even with him on the racing line. Doug also goes 160 to keep pace.

The leaders are strung out in a line while the back half manages a 3-wide ahead of del Lago.

Next Deadline: Turn 32 plots due Tuesday at 8am EDT/Noon UTC (soft deadline). Hard deadline is Wednesday at the same time.

Turn 31 Results
Chris goes 60 through the 60 space in Horquilla while Fabio sticks to his tail with the same move. John also goes 60 but takes the Horquilla line. Giovanni overbrakes to 100 using 2s on a brakes test (mod 2) and sheds two wear on the del Lago lines to pull up just before the Horquilla 60 space. Mike follows him on the lines at 100 for 2 wear as well.

Rando goes 80 and pulls up right to the corner on the line. Turyko and Tim each go 140 down the straight and sandwich Rando in between them. Dave also goes 140, ending to the inside.

Marshall goes 120 on the racing line for 2 wear, while Jim goes inside at 100 for 2 wear and pulls ahead of him. Doug goes 120 on the line for 2 wear also.

Minor delay as we continue on through Lap 3.

Looking ahead to Season 4 ...really early, but we're planning ahead to move back to Europe and Doug has offered to queue up some Historical Tracks that will may be previewed in our Redscape GP first. We have the option to tell him what we want to see first, using the Season 4 Track Poll on Redscape: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=3400. Read the text instructions before voting.

Next Deadline: Turn 33 plots due Friday, September 23 at Noon EDT/4pm UTC (soft deadline). Hard deadline is Monday, September 26 at 8am EDT/Noon UTC.

Turn 32 Results
Chris goes 80 through the S1 80s for free. Fabio plots 100, but with Chris in the way has to head to the 120 space. John plots 120 hoping to go into the 120s, but Fabio is already there so he late brakes to 100 using a brakes test (naked 7).

Giovanni and Mike each go 80 and shed a wear in the Horquilla 60 space. Turyko and Tim go 100 into del Lago; Turyko takes the 60s and then the second RL, Tim takes all of the 60s and grabs the racing line for Horquilla. Both spend 2 wear for their passage. Rando goes 60 on the lines for free.

Dave goes 100 into the 100s. Jim goes 140 up onto the del Lago racing line, while Marshall goes 120 with a slip to keep on Jim's tail. Doug finishes Solana at 120 on the line.

Quick turnaround this time, thanks guys! If you're heading to Doug's demo and live race at Congress of Gamers tomorrow, I'll see you there!

Next Deadline: Turn 34 plots due Monday, September 26 at Noon EDT/4pm UTC (hard deadline). Will process early over the weekend if I have all plots and the time to do so.

Turn 33 Results
Chris, Fabio, and John all go 100 with no wear spend; Chris on the S2 line, Fabio and John finishing the S1 120s and then going to the S2 line. Giovanni goes 120 through the S1 120s and then starts the S2 line. Mike goes 100 on the S1 line.

Turyko plots 80 through the outside of Horquilla for a wear. Rando goes 60 through the same route for free. Tim also goes 60 but uses the racing line to slide past Rando.

Dave slows to 60 and takes the 2nd line in del Lago for free. Jim goes on the move and plots 100 through the first line and then the 60s; he grabs the Horquilla line and finishes ahead of Dave. Marshall goes 60 and uses both lines for free. Doug goes 100 and starts the first racing line.

Fabio catches back up to Chris while Giovanni makes full use of his wear advantage and pushes his way into third, with the leaders in sight. 3 corners remain, can he make up the difference?

Next Deadline: Turn 35 plots due Tuesday, September 27 at Noon EDT/4pm UTC (soft deadline). Hard deadline will be Wednesday at the same time.

Race 2 (COTA): We're heading to Austin soon, and the forum/track for Circuit of the Americas is now open! viewtopic.php?f=145&t=3405

My assumption is that all of you will continue on in the second race, but if that is incorrect please let me know ASAP. Because we've fallen behind, if you don't mind I plan to overlap the COTA start with the ending of this race. By that I mean: after the first drivers start crossing the finish line for Mexico City, we'll start building and bidding for COTA. If you have a strong preference against doing this, please let me know.

Turn 34 Results
Chris goes 100 and pulls right up to the chicane. Fabio goes 140 and pulls up next to him in the middle. John finishes out S2 at 100. Giovanni takes the S2 line at 140 for 2 wear and rides past John down the straight, opting for the middle lane. Mike goes 80 in the S2 80s for free and eats Giovanni's dust.

Turyko goes 80 in the S1 80s while Tim opts for 120 in the 120s, both clearing the corner this turn. Rando takes a cue from Tim and also goes 120 into the 120s, unable to utilize the slip opportunity with both lanes blocked.

Jim takes the Horquilla line at 60 for free. Dave continues at 60 into the 60 space. Marshall plots 80, and with the 60 space blocked by Dave, he late brakes using a brakes test with 2 skill (mod 5) to slow to 60 in order to take the Horquilla 40 for a wear. Doug slows to 60 and takes both lines of del Lago for free.

Fabio edges Chris out of the top spot as we close in on the finish.

Next Deadline: Turn 36 plots due Friday, September 30 at Noon EDT/4pm UTC (soft deadline). Hard deadline is Monday, October 3 at the same time.

Turn 35 Results
Fabio gets the jump on Chris by going 100 through the 100s in the Chicane, finishing inside before Foro Sol. Chris goes 80 in the 80s and is left with the outside lane next to Fabio. Giovanni and John each go 100 into the chicane for free as well. Mike closes the gap at 140 and finishes in the center lane ahead of the chicane.

Turyko, Tim, and Rando all clear S2 on the racing line at 100 for free. Jim goes 100 on the S1 line for free. Marshall plots 120 and uses 2s on the acceleration roll (mod 5) to get there. He takes the S1 line for a wear and sticks to Jim's tail. Dave also goes 120, but with the line blocked he heads to the 120s for free. Doug goes 60 in the Horquilla 40 space for a wear.

Turyko lets it all hang out in the Chicane and (unlike the guys in C3) it pays off. He's got 3 wear remaining, can he pick up a spot from John or Mike? Our leader goes to bare tires but he's got Chris and Giovanni right on his heels.

Next Deadline: Turn 37 plots due Monday, October 3 at Noon EDT/4pm UTC (hard deadline).

Turn 36 Results
Fabio, Chris, Giovanni, and John all go 60: Fabio and Giovanni each drop a wear (Fabio's last) on the 40 space through Foro Sol. Chris takes the 60s in Foro Sol, and John finishes the Chicane and ends inside before 40 space. Mike goes 100 in the 100s and pulls up next to John before Foro Sol.

Turyko charges down the straight at 120 and hits the 60 space in the Chicane for 2 wear and his last two skill on the chance roll (mod 3). Tim goes 120 down the straight to finish inside, Rando follows at 100 with a slip to keep with him.

Jim goes 80 in the S2 80s for free and blocks the end of the line. Marshall goes 120 to finish the S1 line then takes the S2 100s for a wear. Dave also goes 120, he'd like to take the line but with Jim in the way opts instead for the 80s for 2 wear and pulls up to the outside. Doug goes 120 in the 120s.

All this risky behavior in the first race.

Ok, I can respect that.
