Hey guys, I have to apologize. Here's the actual current speed chart. The short version of the excuse is that the program takes into account starting position. Since a single track space equates to almost 263 feet this is a significant distance (as opposed to the 20 feet or so that actual F1 cars are spaced). The code was originally developed for a 12 car field. I knew I'd have to modify it for this field but realized a few days ago when I was tweaking something that I hadn't done that. So everyone's speeds (except for Will) were artificially low in section 1. (For example, William started 5th, the code assumed that was row 3 when in fact it was row 5. Therefore he actually travelled 2 more spaces than the code was computing) Also while correcting the chart I found that I apparently had mistyped something for Fabio's section 2 time. Since the program doesn't account for the start position during sections 2 and 3 the section 2 numbers should not have been affected. And with the exception of Fabio, they weren't. And of course with the higher speeds in section 1 the averages are up also (except for Fabio as explained above). However Fabio still has a good shot at that record.

No apologies necessary, Jim, we love what you do. Let me know when you're ready to steward a race: Season 3 could see a potential C3!

Sad steward is sad. We have our first NPR of the race. You ok, Ron?

Note the ability to change lanes mid-corner. I think this was much more common on the old AH tracks.

Turn 12 Results
Fabio drops speed to 80, cuts into the 60 on Horquilla, and burns a wear in the #9 60 space. Chris sheds a wear in the Horquilla 60's and another in the following 60 in corner 9. Will takes the Horquilla 80's for free at 80. Ron drops to 80 as his foot slips off the gas pedal then he swerves to the outside lane to avoid a squirrel running across the track (RM plot). William pulls up to the inside of the #84 in front of Horquilla. At 100, Joe has no place to put his car and must emergency brake down to 80. He rolls on the brake table with 2sp and passes (modified 5).

Two cars enter lap #2. Go, Dog, Go! (Do you like my hat?)

Turn 13 Summary
Fabio ignores his car's limitations with a roll on the acceleration table (naked 9) and speeds to 140, grabbing the Uno line. Chris comes out of #9 at 140 and tucks in behind the #17. Will conserves wear in #9 at 80 through the 80's. William drops 4 wear at 100, 2 in the Horquilla 60's and another 2 in the #9 60. He pulls up next to the #6. Ron takes the Horquilla 80's for a wear at 100 and enters the #9 80's for a 2nd wear. Joe sheds a wear at 80 in the Horquilla 60's. He sits on the bumper of the #84.

William is pushed to the inside (& 3rd place), also at 140. Ron finishes #9 at 100. Joe burns a wear in the 80's at 100 while staying on the bumper of the #84.

I will try to speed up the race over the next several weeks with some soft 24 hour mid-week deadlines (not the weekends). I've got lots of travel coming up in late December & early January - ideally we're done before the schedule gets all discombobulated. This race is moving faster than I expected so I think it can be done.

Turn 15 Summary
Fabio enters Curvon Salotto on the line at 160 for a wear. At 140, Chris grabs the Salotto line. William burns 2 wear in Curva Uno at 140 then hits the S curve on the line for free. Will takes the Uno line and the S del ciervo for free at 120 and tucks in behind the #8. Ron sheds 2 wear in the Uno 100's followed by the S curve line for free at 140. Joe drops a wear in the Curva Uno 100 and grabs the next line at 120 plus the bonus.

Late again. Sheesh. As lap 1 is completed Chris has a lead of just over a second over...well...second.

The way you guys are all spread out, I could easily have added more cars on the track.

Turn 16 Summary
Fabio finishes Curvon Salotto at 160. Chris takes the Salotto line at 140 for free. William sheds a wear on the Salotto line at 160. Will pulls up to the big curve on the line at 140. Ron finishes S Del ciervo at 140. Joe takes the S curve line for free at 140 and tucks in behind the #84.

Ron sheds a wear on the Salotto line at 160. Joe burns 2 wear on the outside lane in Salotto at 160, pulling alongside the #84 car with the slip.

Turn 18 Soft Deadline: Thursday, November 19th @ 8 a.m. EST (1 p.m. GMT)

Two cars drop the hammer...

Turn 18 Summary
Fabio enters Chicana de Ascari on the line for a wear at 120. Chris drops to 100 and stresses his brakes for a wear. He keeps up with the #17 with the bonus and grabs the chicane line. William races to 180 on the stretch with 2 sp (modified 8) to gain ground on the leaders. Will thinks this is a good idea too, also using 2 sp to hit 180 (modified 6). Both Ron & Joe finish Salotto at 160, trading paint the whole way.

The back of the field made up a little time that sector. Chris is out of the money for the first time and Joe is in it for the first time.

William burns 2 wear on the Ascari chicane line at 140 and pulls even with the #00. Will enters the chicane on the line at 120 for a wear. Ron pulls up to Ascari at 160 (no line requested). At 140, Joe grabs the bumper on the #84.

Fabio has 1 1/3 laps left to the finish. Will anyone catch him in that brakeless car? Winning in this car is not unprecedented at Redscape: http://www.redscape.com/viewforum.php?f=100

Turn 20 Summary
Fabio sheds 2 wear on the Mixtos line at 100. Chris follows at 100, also burning 2 wear on the line. With the line occupied, William gets pushed to the outside 60's in los Mixtos for 2 wear at 100. Will pulls up to Entrada a los mixtos on the line at 120. Ron takes the Chicana de Ascari for a wear at 100. At 80, Joe travels for free through the chicane.

Turn 21 Deadline: Tuesday, November 24th @ 12 p.m. EST (5 p.m. GMT)
I am unable to adjudicate from Wednesday through Sunday so let's squeeze one more in this week.

The dice come out on the chance table. As a famous race car driver once said: "If you ain't first, you're last!"

Happy Thanksgiving, fellas!

Turn 21 Summary
Fabio drops a wear on the Curva del Ombu racing line at 100. Chris takes it easy on the Ombu line at 80 for free. William must've been suspicious of this move and also plotted 80, riding the Ombu line for free. Will sheds 2 wear on the Entrada a los mixtos line at 100 and grabs the next line. Ron hits los mixtos at 100 on the line for a wear and a roll on the chance table with 2sp (modified 6). He passes through unscathed. At 80, Joe pulls up to Mixtos on the line.
