The tension mounts...

Will accelerates to 160 on the tables (naked 9), uses the outer lanes in 200R, and pulls up to the Spoon. Kal stays alongside the #6 at 140. Fabio stays on the bumper of the Valvoline car at 140. John attempts to pull away from Tim C. and damages his engine! Meh... who needs 160 TS anyway?

Turn 38 Summary
Tim takes the 130R at 140 for free as he closes in on the final corner. Mike keeps pace, also at 140 for free in the 130R corner. John pushes his engine to hit 180 with some dice. He passes the Acceleration (naked 8) but fails his top speed roll (naked 11). He re-plots to 160. Tim C. tucks in behind the #28 at 140. Brad finishes the Spoon at 100.

Will takes the 100's in the Spoon at 100 for free. Seeing the outside blocked, Kal ducks into the 80's and burns his last wear as he passes the #6. Fabio follows the #3 car through the 80's in the Spoon and sheds a wear at 100. Todd pulls up to the Spoon at 140. Chris trades some paint with the #84, also at 140.

John's accelerator was not damaged (it should show 60, not 40). I got a little carried away with my sledgehammer. I'll fix it with Friday's adjudication.

Tim B. passes an essential dice roll (one more to come, Tim). John makes a subtle move that guarantees 3rd place. Tim C. learns the value of conditional orders.

I'll be pushing for four turns next week (M,T,W,R) so please stay on top of it. I'll be in travel mode for three weeks starting next Friday.

Turn 39 Summary
Tim B. careens into the Triangle on the line at 100 then taps the brakes down to 80 (naked 6) before going into the corner for free. Mike pulls up to Casio on the line at 120. John pulls a fast one (or a slow one), taking the 130R at 120. At 140, Tim C. finds no room in the 130R and hits the brakes to avoid a collision with the #28 (naked 10). His brakes fail him, causing a spin and some damage.

Brad moseys along the straight at 140. Kal grabs the bumper on the #50 at 160. Fabio pulls alongside the #3 at 160 and the bonus. Will tucks in behind the Intimidator, also at 160. Todd burns his last 2 wear at 140 through the Spoon 100's. Chris takes the Spoon 100's for free at 100.

Coming soon... even more dice!

Turn 40 Summary
Tim B. drops to 60 as he finishes the Casio line. Mike takes the Casio for free at 60. John pulls up to the Triangle on the line at 140. Tim C. comes out of his spin at 60.

At 140, Brad takes 130R for free and passes the #5. Kal maintains 160, takes the 130R 160's for free, and comes up on the numbers of the Kellogg's car. Fabio hits the 130R for a wear at 160 and attempts a forced pass on the #3 with 1sp (modified 10). With the failed attempt he drops speed to 120, costing his last wear and a roll on the brake table (naked 2). Will plays it safe at 140, takes the 130R for free, and tucks in behind the Intimidator.

Todd drops the hammer and hits 180 on the radar. Chris pulls out of the Spoon at 160.

Unbelievable! Mike pulls out the win on a failed dice roll by Tim.

Turn 41 Summary
To ensure the win, Tim B. must roll on the tables to get to 120 (naked 11). His engine fails him and must be re-plot at 100. Mike pushes his engine as well (naked 6) and passes the #21 just before they cross the finish line. John takes the Casio line at 80 for a wear and will glide into an uncontested 3rd place next turn.

At 100, Brad opts to nudge the brake pedal down to 80 before he enters the Triangle on the line (naked 6). Tim C. grabs the inside lane next to the #50 at 100. Kal plots 100 but has to tap the brakes with no room for his car (naked 8). Fabio pulls up to the outside of the #3 at 100. Will has to brake down from 100 with a track full of cars in front. He uses his 3sp chit to guarantee success.

Todd regains contact with the peleton at 140, taking the 130R for free. Chris cruises through 130R on the 140's for free at 140.

Let's see if we can get three more cars across by tomorrow...

Turn 42 Summary
John rolls across the finish line at 140 for 3rd place. Tim C. takes the Casio 60's for free at 60. Brad runs the Triangle on the line for free at 60, passing the #5.

Kal plots 80, taps the brakes down to 60 on the tables (naked 7) and follows the #50 on the Casio line. Fabio also plots 80 followed by a brake down to 60 (naked 7) but is pushed to the outside 60's.

Will pulls onto the Casio line at 60 for free. Todd hits the Triangle 80's at 100 with 2sp on the chance table (modified 4). Chris plays it safe at 100.

Half the field has come home and the last four will cross the finish next turn. I know the plots should be a formality but I'll force you to send them anyway (mis-plots are always a possibility).

Turn 43 Summary
Brad pushes his engine to 120 (naked 6) and crosses the line in 4th place. Kal pushes to 140 (naked 2) but has to settle for 5th. Tim C. carries his nose across the finish line for 6th at 120.

Fabio finishes Casio at 60. Todd drops to 80 and comes through the Triangle in the 60's, coming alongside the #17. Will finishes the Casio line at 60 and makes it three wide to the finish line. Chris takes the Casio line for free at 60.

Turn 44 Deadline: Monday, December 21st @ 9 a.m. EST (2 p.m. GMT)
When I receive the last four plots, I can roll the dice and give you the final standings pretty quickly. I probably can't get to the track image for a while, though.

I found a moment for the final adjudication... yay!

Now that the race is over:

1) Consider penning some thoughts on the race. I'll be writing mine up in a few days.
2) Prepare for the final race in the Grand Prix, Marina Bay at Singapore. Remember, builds are due in early January. You may send them at anytime.
3) Check out the Grand Prix standings over in Pit Row (bwa ha ha ha). This should have a big impact in how you race at Singapore. The top six drivers stay in C1 for season three while the bottom six get relegated to C2. Do the math and see what you need to do to stay in C1 (or to win a title).

On to the last turn...

Turn 44 Summary
Todd gets the initiative by pushing to 160 with his last bit of skill (modified 7) and grabs 7th place. Will pushes his engine to 140 with 1sp (modified 4) and takes 8th. Fabio keeps his engine cool at 120 but falls to 9th. Chris brings up the rear and tips his nose over the finish at 120 for 10th and the last point.

What a difference tires make. The speeds in the final sector are considerably lower.
