Todd!

Were I you, I might have set myself up to unleash a 200.

Sigh. I'm SO far behind you.

I shared a very opinionated email with Fabio about my expectations for this race. It is VERY judgemental (and a bit embarrassing to me).

FABIO, please publish my email after I pass the start/finish line for lap 3. Then you all can be amused or horrified at my predictions.

With warm regards from NJ,

Cody pressed his luck with the dice gods one too many times...

Turn 23 Summary
Fabio readies his car for Konya on the line at 140. Tim B. continues to run the straight at 160. Cody pushes his engine to 160 with 1sp (modified 11). The failed test brings his speed down to 140 but the slip allows him to keep pace with the #21 car. Mike keeps it steady at 160. Brad get the initiative as he pushes his engine to 180 w/ 1sp (modified 8). Tim C. follows at 160 and grabs the tailpipe on the #50 car. John takes the Gaziantep line for free at 120. Rando drops a wear on the Gaziantep 100 at 120 and tucks in behind the #28 car. Kal uses the Gaziantep line for free at 120 and gets a slip. He passes the green car, and pulls alongside the #28 car. Will burns 2 wear in the Gaziantep 120's (no route indicated) and settles onto the Intimidator's bumper. Chris takes the Gaziantep line for 1 wear at 140.

Turn 24 Deadline: Monday, July 13th @ 9 a.m. EDT (1 p.m. GMT)

Maybe if there were no cars between you two, but c'mon; 15 spaces? I could see that if his engine blows...

Perhaps you are right, then

$10 to Redscape that you do NOT catch Cody. The bet would be void if Cody were to spin/crash or blow an engine.

Sound good?

Well -- I'm interested -- what do I get when I pass him?

A $10 donation to Redscape in your name? Or shall we just make it person to person?

OK, we have an agreement -- Loser pays $10 to Redscape. Nobody pays if Cody breaks before I catch him. (Cody don't break!)

I figure this is quite doable. I plan to 160 at least 7 times more this race. That's a 14-space tightening against Cody's now crippled 120 top speed. Add in my current 8 wear advantage, how do you figure I fail to catch him? Yes there are a few cars between us -- but I refuse to let them stand in my way. :)

I think each car will cost you one space out of your total. Cody might possibly take chances. He is prone to doing that.

The way I look at it, if he breaks, it is good for me. If you press too hard and hurt your car, it is good for me. Redscape wins either way.

I'm in!

I'm kinda jealous that we don't have any bets on C2, and it's a closer race!

Kal, I'm willing to make a substantial wager on THIS race -- you and me, mano-a-mano. I would even give some odds. Care to step up to the plate?

 I'm too much of a chicken with my crappy brakes. I'm just trying to hold on with the little bit of wear I have left.

Todd-meister,
You are way ahead of me. Even so, I'm feeling (brashly) lucky. Would you like to wager on the outcome of this particular donnybrook? :)
