NEWS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE (Editor's note: the motives and intentions of all parties named in the following section are completely made up, and bear no similarity to anything anyone is doing or will do, unless it does, in which case it's 100% coincidental. In other words, this part is just for fun so don't take it seriously.)
The quiet and peaceful people of Bloemfontein, South Africa bore witness to an aerial skirmish this day that left hundreds of acres devastated as the SAAF tried to fend off an invasion from Her Majesty's Royal Air Force. Neither side could gain the upper hand, and both were forced to retreat. Elsewhere, South African ground troops met resistance from a Zambian patrol while attempting a hostile takeover in Zimbabwe's capital city of Harare. Not to be left alone, the South African navy also saw action in the recently acquired province of Maputo where a rogue American Air Force Corps got lost on its way to Albuquerque (should have taken a right).
In the Middle East, the forces of Israel and Saudi Arabia met at the border of Mecca and Riyadh. Both sides took heavy casualties and were forced to retreat. The UN is considering bombing both sides in order to bring peace and democracy to the area, but only the US has agreed because everyone hates America anyway. Meanwhile, India has sent ground troops into Oman, but no one knows why.
Eastern Europe saw the only two battles with a clear victor as Polish forces successfully invade Belarus despite the presence of Ukrainian troops. Meanwhile, Serbian forces managed to oust Italian troops in Croatia, but a German army quietly slipped into Budapest behind them. The local governments remain oblivious to foreign occupation and continue about their daily lives.
In the Pacific, skirmishes in Palau and East China Sea result in the death of thousands of aquatic animals. The local economies plummet as governments seek new forms of income. One official in Japan was overheard suggesting that all Korean tourists be allowed to stay free for the length of their vacation. No word on how that went over in the parliament.
Meanwhile, all remains quiet on the western front....er western hemisphere. The only notable exception is an American Air Force General heard shouting "I'll get you my pretties, and your little dog, too!" while flying over Maracaibo. Rumors suggest he forgot to take his meds.
